A very nicely built website! This contains a wealth of resources that will be quite valuable to
your students and their families. Your site navigation was very well organized, as was each of
your pages. And your content was clearly carefully chosen and placed. The validator returned
some errors—while some were acceptable as you were using html for formatting some
elements as opposed to CSS (fine for this course), others, such as misplaced tags, should be
corrected. Remember to always run your pages through a validator to remove such errors and
improve your score. From a design standpoint, your use of styles was excellent! Though you
were missing the documentation on ISTE NETS that are required as part of your reflection, your
documentation of HTML elements was otherwise well done.

Explain which web 2.0 or interactive tool you chose and why you chose it:

The purpose of my website is to allow parent’s of my classroom students to help

their children, with significant disabilities, meet individualized educational
goals. The biggest barrier I face is communication with parents. Reading hand-
written notes before bed, checking email, or having long phone calls is not
always possible for parents. One thing most parents have is a cellphone that
they can check during convenient times. Because of this, I am adding the online
version of www.Remind.com to my website. I already use the app in my
classroom, but I feel it is important to add to my website as well. Remind works
well as an interactive 2.0 element as parents can message me at any time
Web 2.0 or opportune time to discuss their child’s education.

Briefly discuss how your activities and/or questions on your site represent
different levels (especially higher levels) of Bloom’s Taxonomy).

Considering Bloom’s Taxonomy,

Knowledge – Remember: I offer a lot of information for parents daily knowledge

of their child’s school day through the “Homepage” – Daily Notes, Schedule,
Family Homework information
Bloom’s
Understand: I give brief descriptions to help parent’s understand the purpose of
Taxonomy
different activities: “Homepage” – Family Homework Overview.

Apply: Parents can use the “Resource” page to find new resources to apply to
their children’s daily lives, especially in terms of education.

Analyze: Parents can analyze our classroom adaptations by looking at my

“Photos” page. I am hoping this page gives parents an idea of how they can
adapt activities at home and get them curious of different ways to use tangibles.
Jessica Young

Evaluate: I evaluate parents’ perception through 2 different forms. “Literacy” –

Survey, and “Communication” – Survey. This allows my department to get a
better grasp of parent’s understanding and needs.

Create: I use my Web2.0 interactive tool, Remind app, to allow parents to create
discussions with me. This eases communication so that we can be more of a
unified team for their children’s’ education.
