Przy porównaniach używamy słowa than, które tłumaczymy jako „niż” lub „od”, np.:
 Tom is taller than Sally. – Tom jest wyższy niż Sally.

Zwrot as …… as używamy, kiedy chcemy powiedzieć, że jakiś człowiek (rzecz) jest taki sam jak
ktoś inny.
 Tom is as tall as Sally. – Tom jest tak wysoki jak Sally.
