Amazon Terminologies
These are the most frequently used Amazon terms.

Buy Box - point of purchase on Amazon. This is where the customers can begin their purchasing
process by adding the product to their shopping cart.
Amazon Prime - premium membership; paid service that gives Amazon’s shopper to receive
benefits like free fast shipping and exclusive shopping deals. All FBA sellers are eligible for
Amazon Prime.
Fulfillment by Amazon - products are fulfilled and sent by Amazon’s fulfillment center
Fulfillment by Merchant - products are fulfilled and sent from merchant’s location.
Best Seller Rank or BSR - indicator on how well the products are selling on Amazon depending
on their categories.
Review - customers rate how satisfied they were with the product
Feedback - customers rate how satisfied they were with the seller in terms of packaging,
customer service, and shipping.
ASIN or Amazon Standard Identification Number - 10-character alphanumeric unique identifier
assigned by Amazon for product identification.
SKU or Stock Keeping Unit - company specific product identification that helps control the
inventory.
UPC or Universal Product Code - numbers that appear under the barcode. Sellers can purchase
a unique UPC code for their private label products on GS1 (Global Standard 1)
Bar code - small image of lines on the product to identify their particular product number.
Sponsored Products - Products that are advertised and promoted and usually shown on the top
product searches.
PPC or Pay-Per-Click - advertising campaign on Amazon
Gated Category - product or categories that require approval to sell on Amazon
Standard size item - those with the following dimensions:
20 lbs or less
18” or less on its longest side
14” or less on its median side
8” or less on its shortest side
Oversized item - products that exceed the standard size measurements.
