• Given by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy of Music, Dance &

• It symbolizes not only the highest standard of excellence and
achievements, but also recognizes sustained individual work and
contribution.
• The award ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on 6
February, 2019.
• Conferred by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind to the winners of
2017.
• The award carries a cash prize of ₹ 1 lakh, a Tamrapatra (brass plaque)
and Angavastram (shawl).
