END-USER SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
FUJIFILM Corporation

The license of the Software (as defined below) granted hereunder is contingent upon the Licensee’s acceptance of
all the terms provided herein, and any use of the Software by the Licensee shall be deemed as such acceptance.
This Product contains software ("Software") and related written materials ("Documentation"). The term "Software"
shall include any updates, upgrades, modified versions, additions and copies of the Software licensed to you by
FUJIFILM Corporation ("FUJI").

1. License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable
and non-sublicensable license to use the Software and the Documentation only on a single computer until such rights are
terminated according to Section 8 below.

2. Ownership. It is acknowledged and agreed that FUJI retains all title and rights to the Software the Documentation and all
copies thereof, and no title or rights to the Software or the Documentation is transferred or licensed to you except as expressly set
forth herein.

3. Restriction on Use. You may: (i) make and retain one extra copy of the Software for backup purposes only; and (ii) copy the
Documentation only as reasonably necessary for user reference and backup purposes. Each copy of the Software and
Documentation made by you shall contain the same proprietary notices, labels, and marks as the original thereof without any
alteration. You shall not: (i) sell, sublicense, assign, lease, encumber or otherwise transfer the Software or the Documentation or
the rights granted hereunder; (ii) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or create derivative works of the Software; (iii) remove
or alter any proprietary notices, labels or marks on or contained in any part of the Software or the Documentation; (iv) make any
copies of the Software or the Documentation except as permitted above; or (v) install the Software on any computer other than as
permitted by this Agreement. As a condition of the use of the Software by you, you hereby represent and warrant that you shall not
use the Software for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by this Agreement. You agree to abide by all applicable laws and
regulations in your use of the Software.

4. Export Control. You shall comply with all export and re-export restrictions and regulations imposed by the government of the
United States and other relevant countries or regions (“Export Restrictions”). You shall not knowingly transfer, directly or indirectly,
any restricted software or technical data received hereunder or the direct product of such data, to any country or region identified
as an embargoed destination or country in the Export Restrictions, unless prior written authorization is obtained from FUJI and
each appropriate United States or other government agencies. This Section shall survive the expiration or termination of this
license agreement.

5. Update and Upgrade. FUJI may, at its sole discretion, make any update or upgrade of the Software available; however,
FUJI shall have no obligations to make any update or upgrade of the Software available.

6. Limited Warranty. FUJI hereby warrants that the Software shall operate in substantial conformity with the then current
Documentation, when used in strict compliance with such Documentation. This warranty shall be effective only for one year
following your receipt of the Software (hereinafter referred to as “Warranty Period”). This warranty is conditioned upon the
installation and use of the latest version of the Software released by FUJI in strict compliance with the then current Documentation.
If the Software fails to perform as warranted in the Warranty Period, FUJI shall use commercially reasonable efforts to correct such
Software. THE FOREGOING STATES THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES TO WHICH YOU ARE ENTITLED FOR FUJI'S
BREACH OF WARRANTY. FUJI HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY OTHER WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE AND
DOCUMENTATION, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ALL WARRANTIES REGARDING
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of Liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FUJI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR
ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING
WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA), WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES ARE BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT
(INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), PRODUCT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE (INCLUDING ANY DAMAGES WHICH ARE IN ANY WAY
CONNECTED WITH ANY USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR DOCUMENTATION), EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. General Provisions. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of Japan, excluding its
conflict of laws rules. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of Japanese courts and agree that the venue shall lie exclusively in
Japan, in all disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement. The use of the Software or Documentation is not authorized in
any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, including without limitation
this Section 8.

9. Termination. All the rights granted to you hereunder shall automatically terminate upon your breach of any provision herein,
and you must cease the use of the Software and Documentation and destruct all copies of the Software and Documentation in
your possession, including any of backup copy, upon such termination. Any provision herein that by its nature survives shall survive
the termination of the rights granted to you hereunder.

1 Functions of the User Utility

The following summarizes the functions of the User Utility. For details of the operations, refer
to the pages shown in the parentheses.

„ Menu Setting (page 2-1)


Makes various settings related to exposure menus and study menus.
However, it is not necessary to use this function to make these settings. Usually, menu-
information settings are made by copying the menu information set at the CR Console to this
unit at once (Restore : page 4-7). In case of making settings per menu is required in some
reasons, utilize this function.

„ Mammography Settings (page 3-1)


Makes various settings related to mammography.

† Mammography Dedicated Menu Settings (page 3-3)


Sets the exposure direction for exposure menus of mammography.

The following menus related to the CAD processing can only be operated when the user’s unit
is equipped with the CAD processing function optionally (including the trial period), and in
other cases, they can not be operated.

† Mammography CAD Sensitivity Adjustment (page 3-7)


Sets the detective sensitivity of the CAD (Computer Aided Detection) processing for
mammography.

2 Starting/Terminating the User Utility

„ Starting the User Utility


Starts up the User Utility. Before the operation, start up the MV-SR657 to display the Home
Window.
When the User Utility is started up, the unit stops the image-input processing or other
background processing. Therefore, confirm the current action status before starting the
operation.

Click “User Utility”.

The confirmation box is displayed.


Click “OK”. The mode for the routine operations is once terminated, and the User Utility
startup processing is executed.
(“Cancel” → Cancels startup.)

When the User Utility has started up, “Main Menu - User Utility” is displayed.

„ Terminating the User Utility


Terminates the User Utility. Before the operation, display “Main Menu - User Utility”.

Click “Terminate” at “Main Menu - User Utility”. The termination processing for the User
Utility is executed.

When the User Utility has been terminated, the mode for the routine operations is restarted and
the Home Window will be displayed.

Makes various settings related to exposure menus and study menus.


However, it is not necessary to use this function to make these settings. Usually, menu-
information settings are made by copying the menu information set at the CR Console to this
unit at once (Restore : page 4-7). In case of making settings per menu is required in some
reasons, utilize this function.

Click “Menu Setting”.

“Menu Setting - User Utility” is displayed.


Creating/editing/deleting menus can be performed with this menu like the CR Console’s User
Utility. Although the specification of the operation screen is slightly different from the CR
Console, the operations are common with the CR Console. Therefore, perform the same steps
as the CR Console’s menu settings. (Their detailed descriptions are omitted in this manual.)
When “OK” is clicked after completing the menu settings, “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.

“Mammography Settings - User Utility” is displayed. The menus related to the CAD
processing are only displayed when the user’s unit is equipped with the CAD processing
function optionally (including the trial period), and in other cases, they are not displayed.
Click “OK” after performing operations for each menu. “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.

Operations are described by the menu, hereafter.

1 Mammography Dedicated Menu Settings

Sets the exposure direction for the exposure menus of mammography.


This setting is required to display/process images correctly to differentiate between left and
right breasts. The display differences between left and right breasts are following two respects:

• Display location of the incidental image information


• Initial display location of images (Displays them not to lack the thoracic wall.)

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Mammography Dedicated Menu Settings”.

(2) Selecting the body part


The dialog box is displayed.
Select the body part registering the exposure menus for mammography (usually, “BREAST”)
from the dropdown list at “Body part”. The exposure menus for mammography are listed up at
“The menu contained in the body part”.

(3) Selecting the exposure direction


Select the exposure direction from the dropdown list at “Exposure direction”.

(4) Selecting exposure menus


Click the desired exposure menu at “The menu contained in the body part”, and then click .
The exposure menu is listed up at “The menu to include in the exposure direction”. (Repeating
this operation can set multiple exposure menus.)

To cancel the set exposure menu, click the exposure menu to be cancelled at “The menu to
include in the exposure direction”, and then click .
To set other exposure direction, repeat the operations from step (3).

(5) Completing the settings


Click “OK”. The settings are completed, and “Mammography Settings - User Utility” returns.
(“Cancel” → Cancels settings.)

2 Mammography CAD Sensitivity Adjustment (Optional Function)

Sets the detective sensitivity of the CAD (Computer Aided Detection) processing for mammography.
Since this setting is important to utilize results of the CAD processing effectively, perform
proper operation in full consideration of the setting.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Mammography CAD Sensitivity Adjustment”.

(2) Making the settings


The dialog box is displayed.
Click the detective sensitivity at both of “Calcification” and “Mass Density”, and then click “OK”.
The settings are completed, and “Mammography Settings - User Utility” returns.
(“Cancel” → Cancels the settings.)

As each detective sensitivity has the following characteristics, catch them sufficiently and then
set them to perform the image viewing correctly.

Standard : Standard detective sensitivity.


Active : Higher detective sensitivity than “Standard” that has a tendency to increase to
detect false positives.
Moderate : Lower detective sensitivity than “Standard” that has a tendency to decrease to
detect false positives.

WARNING
• The setting of “Mammography CAD Sensitivity Adjustment” is very important to utilize the
CAD processing sufficiently. Pay attention to make the setting since the CAD processing
results may differ depending on this setting.

3 Image Processing Parameter Settings for Mammography


CAD Magnified Image (Optional Function)

Sets the image processing parameters for the magnified images detected by the CAD
processing.
Since this setting is important to utilize results of the CAD processing effectively, perform
proper operation in full consideration of the setting.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Image Processing Parameter Settings for Mammography CAD Magnified Image”.

(2) Making the settings


The dialog box is displayed.
Set each image processing parameter, and then click “OK”. The settings are completed, and
“Mammography Settings - User Utility” returns.
(“Cancel” → Cancels the settings.)

Detection Type : Select the detected image to which the settings of image processing
parameters apply.
DRC : Select ON (valid) or OFF (invalid) for DRC.
TAS : Select ON (valid) or OFF (invalid) for TAS.

“DRC” and “TAS” processing cannot be valid at once. Refer to “Chapter 2. OPERATIONS -
BASIC” of “MV-SR657 OPERATION MANUAL” (No.:004-399-xx) about characteristics of
each image processing parameter.

4 Setting for Automatic CAD Conditions (Optional Function)

Sets the conditions for performing the Automatic CAD processing.


Since this setting is important to utilize results of the CAD processing effectively, perform
proper operation in full consideration of the setting.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Setting for Automatic CAD Conditions”.

(2) Making the settings


The dialog box is displayed.
Click the checkbox of the desired condition to put a checkmark on, and then click “OK”. The
settings are completed, and “Mammography Settings - User Utility” returns.
(“Cancel” → Cancels settings.)

BACKUP/RESTORE

1 Backup

Backs up various information in desired media (floppy disks and etc.).


Perform backup periodically in case that troubles occur on the database. The backed-up
information is used for restoring the database described in “2. Restore” (page 4-7).
The following operation steps describe the method in case of using floppy disks which are
most general media for backup.

Before the operation, get a virgin 3.5-inch 2HD floppy disk. (Since this unit is provided with
the formatting function, unformatted floppy disks can be used.)

WARNING
• Use virgin floppy disks for backup. Fuji is not responsible for any damages to the recorded
data as a result of using recorded floppy disks for backup.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Backup”.

(2) Starting the backup


The dialog box is displayed.
Select the information for backup, and then click “Start”.

(3) Selecting drive/folder


The drive/folder selection box is displayed.
Select a drive (usually a: floppy disk drive)/folder at “Drive” and then click “OK”.
(“Cancel” → Cancels settings.)

The confirmation box is displayed.


Insert a floppy disk to the floppy disk drive, and then click “OK”.
(“Cancel” → Cancels backup.)

(4) Executing formatting


The dialog box for formatting is displayed.
The formatting operation is the same as performed on the Windows Explorer. Click “Start”,
and then perform formatting following the message displayed on the screen.

After formatting the floppy disk is completed, click “Close” to execute backup.

If the confirmation box prompting to insert a second floppy disk is displayed, repeat the
operation steps from inserting a floppy disk to formatting.

(5) Completing the backup


When the backup is completed, the confirmation box is displayed.
Eject the floppy disk from the drive, and then select “OK”.

NOTE
• After the backup is completed, the floppy disk must be ejected. Leaving it inserted may cause
errors. In order to catalog backup dates and an order of backup (when multiple disks are
used), record this information on the floppy disk label.

(6) Terminating the operation


Click “Terminate”. The operation is terminated, and “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.

2 Restore

Restores various information from the media used for backup. Since this function has the
following usage, utilize it depending on necessity:
The following operation steps describe the method in case of using floppy disks which are
most general media for backup.

• Returns the database of the unit to the latest backup state when any troubles occur on the
database. In this case, prepare the floppy disk with the latest backup information created by
the backup function of this unit (page 4-2).
• Makes the menu-information settings for this unit by copying the menu information set at the
CR Console at once. In this case, prepare the floppy disk with the latest backup information
created by the backup function of the CR Console.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Restore”.

(2) Selecting drive/folder


The drive/folder selection box is displayed.
Select a drive (usually a: floppy disk drive)/folder at “Drive”, and then click “OK”.
(“Cancel” → Cancels settings.)

The confirmation box is displayed.


Insert the latest backed up floppy disk (the first piece when there are multiple pieces of floppy
disks) to the floppy disk drive, and then click “OK”.
(“Cancel” → Cancels restore.)

(3) Starting the restore


The dialog box is displayed.
Select the information to be restored (copied), and then click “Start”. The restore is executed.

If the confirmation box prompting to insert a second floppy disk is displayed, repeat inserting
floppy disks.

(4) Completing the restore


When the restore is completed, the confirmation box is displayed.
Eject the floppy disk from the drive, and then select “OK”.

NOTE
• After the restore is completed, the floppy disk must be ejected. Leaving it inserted may cause
errors.

(5) Terminating the operation


Click “Terminate”. The operation is terminated, and “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.

Click “Auto Distribution”.

“Automatic-Distribution - User Utility” is displayed.


Make the settings described below, and then click “OK”. “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.

Automatic distribution :
To run the automatic image distribution function, click its checkbox to put a checkmark on.
When it is taken off, the function does not run.

The images received from the following equipment are distributed :


Sets the source equipment for images to be distributed automatically. Click its checkbox of the
source equipment to put a checkmark on.

Destination setting :
Sets the destination for images to be distributed automatically. Select the destination equipment
from the dropdown list.

Automatic image data acquisition :


To run the automatic image data acquisition function, click its checkbox to put a checkmark
on. When it is taken off, the function does not run.

Specifying source data for image input :


Sets the source equipment for the past images that the image (latest image) requires. Click its
checkbox of the source unit to put a checkmark on.

Past image search conditions :


Sets the search conditions for the past images.

Destination : Select the destination equipment storing the past


images from the dropdown list.
Period : To make this item valid, click its checkbox to put a
checkmark on, and then set the study period.
Same anatomical region for study : To make this item valid, click its checkbox to put a
checkmark on.

Makes the settings related to the action assignments to keys.

(1) Selecting the menu


Click “Device Events Control”.

(2) Selecting key


“Device Events Control - User Utility” is displayed.
Click the key to which the action is assigned at “Keystroke”. Up to sixteen keys can be
assigned to actions (F1 to F12, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down).

(3) Selecting action


Select an assigning action from the dropdown list at the “Action” field of the selected key. The
action that can be assigned to the key must belong to the Image Display Screen. Refer to “MV-
SR657 OPERATION MANUAL” (No.: 004-399-xx) about detailed operation of the actions.

(4) Completing the settings


Click “OK”. The settings are completed, and “Main Menu - User Utility” returns.
(“Cancel” → Cancels settings.)
