The definition of civilization is an advanced state of human society, in which a high

level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached. And the definition
of religion is as follows: “the belief in a god or in a group of gods, an organized system
of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods, or an interest,
a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group”. As per mentioned
above “In the modern world nowadays a civilization should be separated from religion”.
I strongly disagree with this statement because religion is the one which defines about
the life of an individual or a society whereby it effects are related to human life.

First of all, civilization should not be separated from religion because religion
promotes morality and order. A moral person is a person that understands that the
universe does not revolve around the ego. In order to civilize a society, morality and
composure within society needs to apply because morality is the differentiation of
intentions, decisions and actions between those that are distinguished as proper and those
that are improper. Without morality is one of factors of failing of civilization as example
moral decay among leaders.

The second reason civilization should not be separated from religion because religion
guides humanity into life. Religion gives us something to believe in. People need to
believe that there is a reason for what they are doing and that there is a reason for life.
The guidance of religion gives people the desire, Desire to go out and work everyday
and to try make the world a better place. They do it because there is a meaning behind it
all.

The third reason civilization should not be separated from religion because religion
provides cohesion within a society. Religion comes as a source of social cohesion. The
primary requirement of society is the possession of social values by which individuals
control the action of self and others and through which society is perpetuated. Science
and technology cannot create this value. Religion is the foundation upon which these
values rest. Children should obey their parents, should not tell lie, women should be
faithful to men, people should be honest and Virtuous, are some of the social values
which maintain social cohesion.

In conclusion, civilization should not be separated from religion. As we see in

Malaysia which is rapidly developing because of multi-religious religion. This is
because every religion has its own distinctive direction and a different guide. By having
multi-religious religion, Malaysia community will be more forward thinking to
improvement and better changes.
