1. GENERAL
1.1. RWY OPERATIONS
1.1.1. GENERAL
RWY 21 take-off and landing forbidden when cable erected, except landing ACFT
using cable.
In case of backtrack of ACFT with MTOW of more than 20 tons it is mandatory to
turn around on stopways RWY 03/21.
Pilot shall request start-up clearance on frequency 119.550 MHZ only after ramp
agents report handling OPS completed "ALL clear" (door closed, no stairs, noth-
ing in proximity).
1.1.2. PREFERENTIAL RWY SYSTEM
RWY 21 used as preferential RWY. When tailwind component exceeds 5 KT (wet
RWY), 7 KT (dry RWY) or on pilot’s request, RWY 03 will be used.

1.2. PROCEDURES IN REDUCED VISIBILITY CONDITIONS


Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) are not available.
1.2.1. RWY USAGE
- RWY 21 is certificated for ILS CAT I operations.
- RWY 21 is suitable for taking-off/landing with RVR below 1300m.
1.2.2. AERODROME OPERATING MINIMA
Take-off, landing and taxiing are not permitted with RVR below 550m.
1.2.3. GROUND MOVEMENT
Whenever conditions are such that all or part of the maneuvering area cannot be
visually monitored from AFIU personnel
- the presence of vehicles and ACFT at the same time is not allowed, except for
the Follow-me car;
- only the movement of one ACFT at a time will be allowed in the movement
area.
Follow-me car will be available on pilot’s request and it is compulsory with RVR
below 1300m.
1.2.4. RADIO FAILURE IN THE MANEUVERING AREA
Whenever an ACFT operating in the maneuvering area experiences a communica-
tion failure it shall comply with the following:
Departing ACFT:
Shall continue strictly on the assigned route to the clearance limit, signalling the
position with the board systems available (switching on/off the landing lights,
too) and wait for follow-me car in order to be guided back to the stand.
Arriving ACFT:
Shall vacate the RWY via the appropriate TWY, signalling the position with the
board system available (switching on/off the landing lights, too) and wait for the
arrival of the follow-me car, in order to be guided back to the stand.

1.3. TAXI PROCEDURES


TWY A restricted to ACFT code D.
TWY B restricted to ACFT code B.
Taxiing not permitted when RVR is less than 550m.

from THR.
- 180 KT when completing turn to intercept ILS LOC or when on ST-IN APCH at
9NM from THR.
- 160 KT at 5NM from THR.

2.2. RADAR PROCEDURES


Radar monitoring in the final approach phase is not provided due to Torino radar
limitations.

Rules for VFR Traffic within Milano TMA


ARR ACFT shall maintain radio contact with MILANO INFORMATION until being instructed to contact the
appropriate ATS Unit of the destination AD.
DEP ACFT shall establish and maintain radio contact with MILANO INFORMATION immediately after leaving the
appropriate ATS Unit freq.

VFR Flights to/from Torino (Caselle)


VFR flights to/from Torino (Caselle) shall be conducted with reference to published REPs.
Clearance to join the AD traffic circuit or to overfly the AD shall be obtained from Torino TWR on the points
FIANO (MFW1) and VOLPIANO (MFE1).
CTR (MFNW2), LANZO TORINESE (MFNW1), FIANO (MFW1), RONDISSONE (MFE3), CANDIA CANAVESE
(MFNE1) and CARIGNANO (MFS1) can be used as holding points when necessary.

VFR Flights to/from Torino (Aeritalia)


VFR flights at TORINO (Aeritalia) AD are allowed at a ground visibility of MNM 1500m and a ceiling of MNM
1500'.
