Engine Oil Replacement

1. Warm Up The Engine

1. Warm up the engine.

2. Vehicle Lift

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely
supported.

3. Front Engine Under Cover Plate

1. Remove the front engine under cover plate (A).

4. Engine Oil ­ Replacement

1. Remove the drain bolt (A), and drain the engine oil.

2. Reinstall the drain bolt with a new washer (B) and torque
to specification.

1. Refill the engine with the recommended engine oil.

At Oil Change including Filter:
3.7 L (3.9 US qt)
After Engine Overhaul:
4.5 L (4.8 US qt)

2. Front Engine Under Cover Plate

1. Install the front engine under cover plate (A).
3. Warm Up The Engine Wait Few Minutes

1. Park the vehicle on level ground, and start the engine.
Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm with no load (in
neutral (M/T model) or P or N (A/T model) ) until the
radiator fan comes on, then turn off the engine, and wait
more than 3 minute.

4. Engine Oil Level ­ Check

1. Remove the dipstick, and wipe off the dipstick, then
reinstall the dipstick.

2. Remove the dipstick.

3. Check the engine oil level. It should be between the upper
mark (A) and the lower mark (B).

4. If the engine oil level is near or below the lower mark
check for oil leaks, and add the engine oil to bring it to the
upper mark.

5. HDS DLC ­ Connection
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A)
located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle. If it
does not communicate, go to the DLC circuit
troubleshooting.

6. Maintenance Minder Reset

1. After doing all procedures, select the individual
maintenance item you wish to reset with the HDS (See the
Maintenance Minder General Information).
