Mechanical Electric Shop

Definition of Electric Shop:

Electrical systems or parts supply or use electricity. Electrical industries, engineers, or

workers are involved in the production and supply of electricity or electrical goods.

1) Safety Measurements

i) Gloves:
Work gloves are personal protective equipment worm during work projects that cover
and protect the hands from the wrist to the fingers.

ii) Hard Hat:

Hard hats are a type of helmets worn in work place to protect the head from flying

objects, collision impact, debris, and shock among other hazards

iii) Safety Boots:

The importance of safety shoes is to protect your feet at the workplace. They are equipped
with slip-resistant soles, materials that protect the feet from falling objects and metallic
and non-metallic protective materials, for constant protection of the toes.

2) Tools

i) Pliers:
Pliers are a tool with two handles at one end and two hard, flat, metal parts at the
other. Pliers are used for holding or pulling out things such as nails, or for bending or
cutting wire. They are also useful for bending and compressing a wide range of
materials

ii) Multipurpose Pliers/Combination Pliers:

Combination pliers are multi-purpose pliers, combining gripping jaws with wire
cutters. They can be used for gripping, compressing, bending, twisting, extracting and
cutting various materials. They are used in many different industries, as well as by
hobbyists and Dryers.
iii) Diagonal pliers:
Diagonal pliers are pliers intended for the cutting of wire. The plane defined by the
cutting edges of the jaws intersects the joint rivet at an angle or "on a diagonal", hence
the name.

iv) Needle-nose pliers:

Needle-nose pliers (also known as pointy-nose pliers, long-nose pliers, pinch-nose
pliers or snipe-nose pliers) are both cutting and holding pliers used by artisans,
jewellery designers, electricians, network engineers and other tradesmen to bend, re-
position and snip wire. Their namesake long nose gives excellent control while the
cutting edge near the pliers' joint provides "one-tool" convenience.

3) Loosing and Tightening Tools:

i) Screw driver:
It is a tool used for driving screws with a flattened or cross shaped tip that fit into the
head of a screw to turn it. A typical simple screwdriver has a handle and a shaft. It is
available in many types and sizes.
ii) Flat edge screw driver:
A flat-head screwdriver is a screwdriver with a wedge-shaped flat tip, used to
tighten or loosen screws that have a straight, linear notch in their heads. This is
arguably the most common tool on the planet—the ubiquitous flat-head screwdriver.

iii) Four edge screw driver/ Philips screw driver:

Phillips screwdriver a screw driver that is designed to be used with a type
of screw (called a Phillips-head screw) that has a slot in its top that looks like a cross.

4) Hammer:

Hammer is used for striking on something. It is the most easy to use tool. It consists of a hard
material iron head attached to a wooden handle. The weight ranges from 0.2 to 2 kg.
Commonly hammers are used to drive nails, fit parts, forge metal and break apart objects

i) Cross peen hammer:

If one end is round and tapered while other end is pointed, then it is cross peen
hammer, used by carpenters. Weight 55g (4oz).
5) Cutter Knife:

A small cutting tool that is designed for opening cardboard boxes and typically consists of a
retractable razor blade in a thin metal or plastic sheath.

6) Tester Pen:

Penetration testing also called pen testing or ethical hacking, is the practice of testing a
computer system, network or web application to find security vulnerabilities that an attacker
could exploit.

7) Digital Multimeter:

A digital multimeter (DMM) is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical values—
principally voltage (volts), current (amps) and resistance (ohms). It is a standard diagnostic
tool for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries.
8) Electrical Cable:

An electrical cable is an assembly of one or more wires running side by side or bundled,
which is used to carry electric current.
