Why AI is taking over the world?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has flourished immensely in the past few years. Advancements in

technology have helped computers process enormous amounts of data in no time. Search

engines have made life very easy for common people. Computers and mobile softwares have

taken over the decision-making process from the humans. Ranging from sports, businesses,

household to daily life decision, everything has come under the influence of AI. So much

importance has been given to AI that people all over the world are threatened by its influence.

They feel a day might come, when AI would eventually takes over human intelligence, thus

eliminating human influence. In my opinion, AI cannot take over the world; instead, human

intelligence will forever be the major influence.

Firstly, AI cannot be original because it has defined boundaries set by algorithms. It lacks the

diversity in intelligence to run and think over matters and hence take over the world. It cannot

be creative in terms of decision making. It always decides based on percentages of positive

outcomes. If a robot comes across a situation to save two people in a car crash, it would save

the person with a higher probability of survival instead of thinking of ways to save both. AI

can never perform surgeries instead of humans. Every biological system and anatomy is

unique and if faced with a decision to make during a surgery, an AI will bank on previous

data, then taking an intelligent decision. This could be life threatening for patients. It cannot

create jokes and entertainment on its own apart from what has been fed to it. A world with AI

would be boring and people would never allow AI to run their lives without entertainment.

Secondly, AI lacks the emotion that has been the cornerstone of the human race. People

would never want a world for themselves that has ease in decision making but no love and

emotion. AI cannot exist with soft hands or hands that can overcome human touch. A robot

can never replace a mother who releases oxytocin and creates a bond between her baby.
Similar is the case with love and true emotions in every relationship. Human race cannot exist

without using those emotions. People like to have an emotional link with people; they would

never like to talk to robots about how they feel.

Third, privacy rights are one of the most basic rights of every individual. People would never

let AI use data about their personal preferences and make decisions according to them. No

one would like to have their entire choices, life history discussed by a monotonous robot. The

world has not completely switched over to AI; however, still there are many question marks

on how the privacy of people can be breached by search engines and social media. AI would

never be allowed to reach full potential because of the rules and restrictions placed over it.

Already there are strict rules in place for personal data that can be accessed by the Internet.

Hacking is another risk associated with intensive use of AI; therefore, a world with AI would

never reach its full potential in terms of data usage.

AI can never take over the world, but it can make the world a more competitive place. A

place where people with no or little skills will be replaced by AI. On one end it might take

over some jobs but similarly it would create more expert jobs in programming, skilled labor

and other similar employment opportunities. Therefore, if you are planning to achieve your

goals in whatever field, you do not have the option to be ordinary. You must be the expert in

your chosen area of interest, as ordinary workers would be replaced by AI. It is the right kind

of motivation in today’s world. So start working towards your goals with the aim of being the

finest.
