Text: There is no required text for the course. Lecture notes will be made
available at Copy Central on Euclid. Several recommended texts are
available in the bookstore. All cover some of the material; none covers
it all. Buy one you feel most comfortable with.
Homework: Homework will usually be given out Friday and due 5 PM the following
Friday, to be turned into the marked boxes on the fifth floor of Evans Hall.
Late homework cannot be accepted since the solutions are posted shortly
after the homework is due.
Grading: Two independent grades are computed for the course and the higher grade is
assigned. The first is course heavy: 30% final + 30% midterm + 20% lab +
20% homework. The second is final heavy: 60% final + 30% midterm +
10% lab. However, you must complete the lab to receive a grade in the
course. More than one missing lab results in an incomplete in the course.
