GECO is an AUTOMATON designed to start, control and check of gen-sets when there is a

power failure, as it can be used with 12 or 24Vcc batteries, with a remote alarm option.

AUTO

GECO has six operating modes chosen by positioning the selector: OFF/RESET
M
A SERV.-1/START
N

AUTOMATIC Vac SERV.-2/START

When there is an adequate power supply, the led comes on and the mains contactor connects. The mains contactor

led also comes on and consumers supplied.

SERV.-1
When there is a power failure, and if the generator parameters are correct, the unit leds Vac Hz come on.
After 3 secs. the command goes to switch on the mains contactor and switch off the unit contactor.

Leds come on.

SERV.-2

Up to three 20-second starts can be made, followed by a 10-second pause. If the unit does not start after three attempts, the
“start failure” led comes on and a siren sounds (2 min.).

The “start command” is withdrawn as soon as the automaton receives the signal that the motor is running, either by
reading the >20Hz generator frequency, or battery positive received from terminal 4.
When the mains supply returns, there is a 60-second delay before the command to transfer loads, the unit runs light for 2
minutes and then stops.

UNIT SUPPLY (SELECTOR ON AUTOMATIC): Vac goes off. The machine is supplied from the unit.
MAINS SUPPLY (SELECTOR ON AUTOMATIC): remains on. The unit does not start when there is no mains supply.

TEST TEST
Operates in the same way as the LOAD TEST, but without transferring loads to the unit. If the mains supply fails during
this operation, loads will automatically be transferred to the unit. The test ends when the selector is moved to any other
position.

LOAD TEST TEST+SERV.-2 Operates in the same way as AUTOMATIC, with the automaton simulating
“Mains failure” and transferring load to the unit. If there is a mains supply, load is transferred when the position is
changed to any other.

MANUAL: OFF/RESET SERV.-1/START SERV.-2/START

OFF/RESET
Stops the unit and deletes the alarms (mains contactor off) the led comes on.
SERV.-1
SERV 1 /START
The consumers are supplied from the mains (mains contactor off) the led comes on. The unit is started and
SERV.-1
run manually.

SERV 2/START
The unit is started and run manually (unit contactor off) the led comes on.
The alarms are set automatically. SERV.-2

STOP
Emergency stop. When the selector is not at OFF the mains contactor is off and the led SERV.-1 on.
The siren output is activated and the led comes on.
2. ALARMS:
START FAILURE/EMERGENCY STOP/GENERATOR FAILURE/RUNNING FAILURE
The led comes on, the siren sounds and GECO orders a stop. Change the selector to the OFF position.

LOW OIL PRESSURE

The led comes on, the siren sounds and GECO orders a stop. Change the selector to the OFF position.

HIGH WATER TEMPERATURE/LEVEL

The led comes on, the siren sounds and GECO orders a stop. Change the selector to the OFF position.

OVERLOAD
The led comes on, the siren sounds and GECO orders a stop. Change the selector to the OFF position.

LOW FUEL LEVEL

The led comes on and the siren sounds. Automatic reset when filled with fuel.
3. BATTERY CHARGER
GECO incorporates an automatic 2-ampère battery charger, supplied from an outside transformer.
When there is adequate battery voltage, led comes on.
BAT

When charging, the led is constant. When the set floating voltage has been reached, the led flashes.
