A. Drill
Ask pupils to do the “What’s in the box?” challenge. Let them identify the objects
and describe the shape.
B. Review
Have the pupils do the crossword puzzle.
1. rectangle - a shape that has two pairs of parallel lines.
2. circles - a perfectly round shape and has no sides.
3. triangle - a shape that has three sides.
4. square - a shape that has four equal sides.

1. Motivation
Let the pupils recite the given poem.

Guide the pupils to give the following generalization by asking: What is a point?
A ray? A line? A line segment?
A point is represented by a dot. It can be identified with a letter or a number.
A ray has one endpoint and an arrowhead which extend indefinitely to one
direction.
A line has arrowheads and it extends on both directions indefinitely or forever.
A line segment has two endpoints and it can never be extended on both
directions.
