El Alzheimer es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa que afecta las partes del cerebro
que controlan el pensamiento, la memoria y el lenguaje causando deterioro en las habilidades
cognitivas, motoras y trastornos conductuales. Es la forma más común de demencia en las
personas mayores y por ende, afecta la capacidad de realizar sus actividades diarias. No existe
una causa concreta a la que se le pueda atribuir la aparición de la enfermedad, pero
principalmente los factores de riesgo implican la influencia genética.
Cambios en la personalidad.
Deterioro en la capacidad de movimiento o al caminar.
Dificultad para comunicarse.
Bajo nivel de energía.
Pérdida de memoria.
Cambios de estado de ánimo.
Problemas de atención y orientación, entre otros.
Esta enfermedad no tiene cura, pero se puede tratar para contrarrestar sus efectos. Estos

The most important thing is to be cautious, inform ourselves as much as we can about this
disease and its prevention. Lastly, if we have a family member or friend who has it, in my
opinion, the most important is to treat them with love and patience, remind them of their own
stories, tell them about ours, show them albums, memories and everything we know they may
like.
