Activity Title: NATIONAL DISASTER RESILIENCE MONTH CELEBRATION

MUNICIPAL LEVEL COMPETITIONS

I. Background:

In consonance to Executive Order No. 29, the National Disaster Resilience Month shall be
observed throughout the country. This year celebration evolved on the theme “KAHANDAAN SA
SAKUNA’T PELIGRO PARA SA TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO”.
With regards to this, Municipality of San Agustin will be conducting municipal level
competitions relative to building resilience for secondary students. Events to be contested are Jingle
Contest, Quiz Bee, Poster Making and Essay Writing.

II. Objectives:
This activity aims to:

1. To inculcate to the students the importance of disaster preparedness

2. To strengthen disaster preparedness in school as well as to their home
and community
3. To showcase their talents and skills on different competitions

III. Methodologies:

It is a one (1) day activity as part of National Disaster Resilience Month Celebration. The
contestants are from different secondary schools in the municipality of San Agustin namely Sto. Niño
National High School, Salvacion National High School and Gata Integrated School. The declared winners
of the different events will represent the said municipality to the Provincial Level Competitions on July 15,
2019.

V. Target Date:

The municipal level competitions will be on July 8, 2019, Monday at Sto. Niño National
High School, Sto. Niño, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur as part of National Disaster Resilience Month
Celebration.
