Over the semester, Managing Organizational Health has discussed the issues of
organizational performance management and organizational performance measurement.
Organizational performance is to make full use of their resources in the organizational in
order to optimize the productivity in the organization. Cambridge English dictionary defined
reflection as serious and careful thought. Being enrolled in the University of West of
Scotland programme, it has thought us to critically think on the different angle and steps
that could be taken in improvement of organizational performance.

As an international student from Malaysia, the module has given me the opportunity to use
the knowledge to reflect on the different scenarios in the organization in Malaysia
particularly. The assignments given by the lecturers pushes us to read more of the relevant
text. The more I have read the relevant text in relation to the assignment, the more interested
I have become to venture in depth about the concept of organizational performance
management and performance. It gives an idea even in the current work environment to
implement few ideas to increase the productivity of the organization. Employees participation
in the organization contributes towards the achievement of targeted goals of the
organization. Currently at my work environment, my views are seen differently with the
knowledge gained from the Managing Organizational Health module. It is not a one way street
from top management to the operational team, however it’s a two way street where target
and goals are channeled down by the management and the operation team send their
outcome reached.

The online discussions forums have taught me to be more independent and open to
presenting my views as well as ideas. On the discussion forums, agreeing to disagree on
other’s view from various culture and background has impact the sense of tolerance.
Managing stress due to tight deadlines of assignment has enabled me to grow in the skills of
time management, which is crucial for the University of West of Scotland programme.
Managing the assignments as well as forums to meet the deadline was not an easy task,
however the situation has brought benefit in terms of improving my skills. It helped me to
prioritize each task and set timeline to accomplish it. This in a great way helped me to improve
on my daily task at work and personal.

Implementation of successful performance management systems will help in the evaluation


and improvement of both individual and organizations performance (Kumar, Pankaj, 2015).
From this module, I have understood the importance of organizational performance
management and the importance of organizational performance measurement by the
management and employees. The management team and operational team are connected
and the relationship is important in order for the growth of the organization. Further I have
learnt to enjoy the forum discussion and assignment that has challenged myself to think and
critically analyze the situation. The case study has pushed me to venture into the organization
in depth and evaluate the situation in order to conclude my own opinion on the matter.
