(A) Coordinates

1. Plot points T(7, 10), K(10, 0) and M (4, 0) on a Cartesian Plane by using suitable
scales. Name the shape you get when you join the three points together.
2. Plot points A(2, 2), B(6, 6), C(10, 6) and D(14, 2) on a Cartesian Plane by using
suitable scales. Name the shape you get when you join the four points together.

3. Points K(0, 12), L(9, 3), M(0, −6) and N(p, q) will form a rhombus on a Cartesian
Plane. Find the coordinates for point N.

4. PQR is an isosceles triangle. Given that the coordinates of the vertices are P(m, 25),
Q(15, -15) and R(-5, 5), find the value of m.

(B) Distance Between Two Points

1. The location of Ahmad’s house on a Cartesian Plane is (20, 7) and the location of his
school is (12, 1). How far does Ahmad have to travel daily for his journey from home
to school and back?
2. Given the coordinates for E, F and G are (2, 2), (2, -2) and (5, -2) respectively.
(i) name the shape that is being constructed
(ii) what is the perimeter of the shape formed?

3. From the Cartesian Plane shown, find the coordinates for point C if ABC is a right-
angled triangle and the distance between A and C is 10 units.

1. PQR is a straight line. If the coordinates for P and Q are (-6, 1) and (2, 9) respectively,
