M. Hamit Ali’s details:

M. Hamit Ali is 50 years old. He is father of five children. His total family member
is seven. As he is an aged man, he has many health problems like asthma and
others. He works as security guard at “Providence Security” company. He has to
work twelve hour per day and there are two shifts. He can work at day or night
shift. He doesn’t get any brake in his working hour. He doesn’t have any
weekend. His company doesn’t provide any food in his working hour. The only
compensation he gets is tk.4000 in every month. He has to manage his home
rent, food and all other expanse from this tk.4000. His home rent is tk.2500. He
need around tk.1000 for his medicine.

He said, his life is very difficult, because he has to manage everything within
tk.4000. This is almost impossible for a parson. He doesn’t have any saving for
future. Whatever he earns he has to send everything. He thinks if he gets
tk.6000-7000 than he can run his life easily.

What I think about his income:

I think he get very few amount of salary compare to his work. There is no equity
between his salary and work. He has to work half of the day. For his work he is
getting only tk.4000 without any benefit and also he doesn’t have any increment.
So, I think his salary should increase. He also should get some other benefit.

Abul Hossain in Details:

Md.Abul Husain lives in Jatrabari, Dhaka. He is

working as a 4 grade employee at Bangladesh Railway. He has wife and two
daughters. They all live with
Abul Husain.

Abul Husain’s task is to maintain the Deluxe Compartments for Bangladesh

Railway’s officials. His job is to check the whole compartment, make necessary
arrangements. If some technical problem arises then he has to inform this to his
supervisor.

His basic is 2400 tk. He has a quarter from Bangladesh Railway. But for this
accommodation every month the authority cuts 1700 or 1800 tk. as utility bills.
So, he got only 700 tk. as monthly salary.

What I Think About His Income:

Every month 700 tk. salary is less than sufficient. He has to run his 4 member
family unit. To cover up this, he gives his Govt. housing in rent for 3700tk. per
month. From there he got 2000 tk. after all the adjustments. I think this amount is
not satisfactory. His elder daughter is studying and needs tuitions. Md.Abul
Husain has to pay for the tuitions, school fees. So, Bangladesh Govt. should see
this and how its 4th grade employees are suffering. Although Govt. announces
increment every year but the lower basic prevents the employees from getting
the increment.

Rajib’s Details:
Rajib Ahamed is 22 year old. He did B.A honors from pass course. Now he is
doing his Masters from National University. He has five family members in his
village, they are his father, mother and three sisters He works as caretaker of an
apartment and does other ode job of landowner like paying electricity bill, water
bill maintaining everything etc. He gets salary of tk.6000 every month.

He gets lunch from landowner. In other benefit he gets free accommodation; his
employer gave him a room with kitchen in the ground floor of the apartment.
He has to work every day in the week. He gets five to seven days vacation in
every three month. In the other hand as he is doing Masters his employer is
bearing all of his education expense. He also teaches Arabic and he gets tk.1000
from there. But, he doesn’t need to send money in his village. He uses this salary
to afford his living expanse in Dhaka. After all expanse he has tk.1000 to tk1500
saving in every month.

He is more than satisfy with his salary. He loves his job, because he can do his
study. He said, living expense in Dhaka is pretty high but, by doing this job he
can afford his all live expanse and other need and he does not need take money
from his parents. If he face any difficulty his employer take care of that problem.

What I think about his salary:

At last I can say, as graduate should go form job. Job a caretaker does not go
with him. He should try for other official job. But, the salary and other benefit he is

getting is more than enough. Because he doesn’t need to give any house rent,
his employer is providing lunch. His employer also Bering his education expanse
and giving tk.6000 cash salary. If I sum up all of his salary and other benefits it
will be more than tk.10000 which good enough. This salary for a caretaker is
good enough.

Name: Amina Begam

Age: 35 year
Sex: Female

Occupation: Housemaid

Amina Begam in Details:

Amina Begam works as a housemaid in our house. She is a full time housemaid.
She is single. She has her mother and sister at her village. She has to watch out
them. She is in our house for 6 years. Sometimes she goes to her village to visit
her family. Her job is to clean ma aunt’s house, wash all the cloths and some
other necessary things.

Her monthly salary is 2000 tk. She has full time accommodation in my aunt’s
house and gets food for three times each day.

What I Think About Her Income:

As Amina Begam is getting food and accommodation with her 2000 tk. salary it
should be enough for her. Amina Begam save some money for herself and the
rest sends to her village. At Eid and some other special occasion Amina receives
500 or 600 tk. more as bonus. My mom also gave her some money as “JAKAT”.
My mom also watches T.V with her, that time Amina seems to be very happy.
So altogether I think Amina Begam’s salary is quite sufficient for her. As she is
getting food and a place to spend her time, 2000 tk. salary until now is satisfied
and Amina is satisfied with this amount.
