Executive Summary

This report is to help you make a decision between three job choices. The criterion that

I found most important was how this job would help you reach your future goals of working in

the fashion industry and becoming a CEO. I also focused on family because you said it was your

top priority. You mentioned you wanted a large family and to live nearby a bigger city in the

south. All of your jobs were located in large cities and in the south. I thought that since family

was so important that safety would be factor to take into consideration before moving. I also

compared cost of living between each city because having a large family is not cheap. I thought

that E Michaels Marketing was the best job to help you work towards your career. E Michaels

works with a wide-based high end clientele. I think these are the best kind of people to be

networking with to get your foot in the fashion industry or well-known sports teams.

Of the three cities, I found Birmingham to have the lowest cost of living. Dallas and

Atlanta were pretty close for the pricing index. But, Birmingham was the overall winner with

housing having a much lower cost than the other two cities. Dallas had the lowest crime rate,

but only by a one percent difference. Birmingham and Atlanta were pretty much tied as the

only flip-flopped between property and violent crime. Living in a suburb in any of these cities

would reduce the crime exposure and would be a much safer environment.

After looking at all this information, I would recommend the E Michaels Marketing

position. It seems to best fit what you are looking for in a career and home.

Conclusion and Recommendation

11

We have looked at many different criteria throughout this report. Now that we have

gone through all the information, we must best judge which job is the best fit for Tiffany. Some

things I hold to strong consideration are the cost of living and crime rate for each town. I think

these qualities are important and should be put at highest priority. All the jobs have a same

basic starting salary of around 30,000. They use the same type of entry level marketing skills.

Tiffany dreams to work in the fashion industry. None of these jobs are related in the fashion

industry, but E Michaels Marketing works with a variety of high-end clientele. E Michaels works

with sports teams, movie theatres, and restaurants. I think that networking with these types of

clients can be a great stepping stone towards the fashion industry.

E Michaels Marketing is located in Birmingham. Birmingham has the lowest cost of

living compared to Dallas and Atlanta. Crime rates are pretty close in all three areas.

Comparison of Crime Rates

United
Atlanta Birmingham Dallas States
Violent Crime 10 9 8 4
Property Crime 9 10 8 4

Figure 4.4

Dallas has the lowest crime. But it is only slightly lower than Birmingham and Atlanta. Looking

back over my information, I conclude that E Michaels Marketing is the best choice. It seems like

a good chance for networking with high-end business people. The location is great with low

cost of living. Crime is pretty high, but it seems like wherever you go crime will be there. More

than likely she won’t live in the city anyway which is where a majority of the crime takes place.
12

This report went through a lot of information and hopefully addressed all areas of

importance for Tiffany. I hope she can take all this into consideration and make a great choice

for herself.
