The solution framework uses a non-intrusive
monitoring mechanism to probe for roamer
information from roaming signaling links. The system
captures roamer profile information, which can be
used dynamically, to determine the nature and
content of messages for subscribers based on their
profiles.
Messaging based on Segmentation of Roamers
The system supports the segmentation of roamers
based on profile and network information. It enables
the operator to set up differentiated messaging rules to
communicate with different user segments in the
most optimal manner.
Work-Flow Driven Business Rules
All messages are defined through a powerful and
flexible rules-driven workflow modeling tool called
RuleMaker. Defined rules perform their own logical
processing and interact with other message
applications and data/information sources to create a
dynamic message based on user, network and other
information available to the messaging framework.
The system is equipped with several widely used
messaging applications, such as the 'Welcome'
message for inbound roamers, the 'Bon Voyage'
message for outbound roamers, among others.
These applications can be easily extended to
customize the messaging experience.
Message Templates
Customized messages can be defined and delivered
to the roamers, using message templates. Dynamic
evaluation of placeholder template parameters
enables real-time construction and dispatch of
relevant messages.
Network Classification
Roaming partner networks can be classified in
different ways to enable targeted communication to
various roamers, such as cross-border roamers,
frequent international roamers and others.
Location Sensitive Messages
Roamers can be sent messages that are relevant to
their current location.
Messages can be sent in any language in the UCS2
character set. Language preferences can be
provisioned by subscriber and home network (of a
roamer).
Blacklist and Opt-out
The platform enables the blacklisting of subscribers
and networks so as to prevent unwarranted messaging
and to support inter-operator agreements with regard
to messaging inbound roamers. Subscribers can
choose not to receive messages by sending an SMS or
by calling the customer care helpline.
Web-browser based Provisioning and Reporting
Intuitive and powerful web-browser based interfaces
support all administrative and reporting operations
