registration for it because it won’t pass emissions and I lacked the funds to
1
make the necessary repairs for it to pass. So I got pulled over one day when
2
an Officer saw my expired tags and now here I am, ashamed, without a license,
3
and about to become even deeper in debt because the Court is going to send me
4
to a collection agency because I can’t pay the $1,653.60 fines in full.
5
My license has already been suspended for lack of payment but so far
6
haven’t need it anyway as Ive been on unemployment since June and having hard
7
time obtaining employment. However, it will be even harder for me to find a
8
job without a valid license and the Court is now demanding full payment
9
before they will lift the suspension.
10
When my fines were assessed this past August the Financial Enforcement
11
Department gave me a job search form to complete and return since my gross
12
income was only $647 at the time and they wouldn’t work a payment plan for me
13
then since my income was too low. I failed to complete the forms as required
14
and just figured they would let me make a payment arrangement anyway. I was
15
completely wrong and messed up big time. They told me full payment would now
16
be due and there was nothing they could do for me.
17
Now I have just received a final notice of default and full payment is
18
expected by December 8, 2010 or my account will be sent to a collection
19
agency which will only serve to add more fees to my fine and drive me deeper
20
in debt and further my economic hardship.
21
Since the time I was at court my unemployment benefit has increased to
22
$1,060 a month and I am also receiving food stamp assistance. So now my groo
23
income is $1,260 and my monthly expenses are $607 a month.
24
26 payment plan, lift my driver’s license suspension, and keep my account away
27 from a collection agency. If I fail to comply with the payment plan then I

driver’s license will be enforced against me. I want to pay the fines and be
1
responsible for my actions but the current situation I am in will simply
2
create more hardships for me. I feel that my current fine of $1,653.50 is
3
adequate punishment.
4
5 I thank you for your time and hope you can see fit to give me a second

Sincerely,
