and the people around them for who they are.
Sometimes it takes a
source of inspiration to
realize that there are peo-
ple out there making the
most out of their lives
while facing adversity that
others can only imagine.
Back in October, the
residents of WAG
(Residential and
Occupational Community
for the Disabled in Gwatt/Thun, Switzerland)
came to Aragon High School as part of their
California Concert Tour. Two members of the
music group were originally California resi-
dents and they saw the tour as an excellent
opportunity to share their musical spirit with
people half a world away.
As the performance got under way in the
Aragon Memorial Theater, I realized the
tremendous logistical undertaking it must
have been to transport all of the members
both with and without disabilities. Many of
them had physical disfigurements and mental
impediments of varying degrees. Some could
not move without the assistance of a wheel-
chair.
What some members lacked in mobility,
they more than made up for in spirit. Each
group member contributed whether it was
through their voice, their synchronized move-
