The ACCA Qualification
A full time course for those students who
seek to gain an internationally recognised
professional ACCA qualification is offered by
LSBF, a leading UK Business School .

Registering as an ACCA student
Enrolment as an LSBF student does NOT
register you with the ACCA. All students who
wish to sit ACCA examinations must register
with the ACCA as a professional exam student:

request a registration pack from ACCA.
Exam Deadlines
ACCA written exams are held in June and
December of each year. You must register as
an ACCA student and complete an exam entry
before you attempt the exams.

Note:

Entry Requirements
The ACCA offers various entry points on to the
ACCA Qualification, depending on age and
previous academic qualifications.
Minimum entry requirements
+ two A Levels and three GCSEs or
equivalent in five separate subjects,
including English and Mathematics.

Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)
+ normally over age 21
+ no academic qualifications required
+ must pass the equivalent of Papers F2,
Management Accounting and F3,
Financial Accounting within two years
before further progression to the
ACCA exams is permitted.
Graduate-entry route
+ relevant degree holders from
ACCA-accredited institutions may be
exempted from all nine exams within
the Fundamentals level and register
directly at the Professional level.
Degrees with some relevance may
also qualify for exemptions
Access to ACCA via CAT qualification
+ no academic qualifications required
+ sit Certified Accounting Technician
+ (CAT) qualification first and then
transfer to the Skills module of the
ACCA Qualification by claiming
exemption from the first three papers
in the Knowledge module.
Exemptions
Students can expect to receive exemptions
if they have a relevant degree or a relevant
professional qualification. Relevant graduates
may be awarded some exemptions for papers
in Knowledge module and Skills module.
There are no exemptions given in Essentials
and Options modules.
For example, students who hold AAT
membership will be exempt from the Knowledge
module.

Practical Experience
To become a Chartered Certified Accountant
it is not enough to successfully pass all the
exams. Students also need to satisfy the
practical experience requirements. They are
also required to provide evidence of a
minimum of 3 years supervised relevant
work experience.
LSBF students will benefit from a specialist
Career Advisor, on-campus, who is trained to
provide advice on specific issues that students
may encounter in their job search.
Furthermore, in order to gain practical skills,
LSBF offers Practical Training Placements to
enable students to experience real
opportunities to practice on real client cases,
working with the real forms that are used in

Visa Procedure
LSBF has significant experience of working
with international students. Our specialist staff
have extensive knowledge of all aspects of the
visa application process for those wishing to
study in the UK. Overseas students should
follow the steps highlighted below:
+ Register with ACCA for student
membership and exam entry.
+ Complete the LSBF enrolment form for
the ACCA course. Forms are available
from our website at www.lsbf.org.uk.
+ Once accepted by LSBF (and your
deposit has cleared), you will be
provided with a Letter of Acceptance
to use in your visa application.
+ LSBF is a non-residential school.
However we offer helpful information
on student accommodation in London
for all of our students.
+ On receipt of the Enrolment Letter,
submit your application for student
visa or visa extension to the British
Embassy or the British High
Commission.
+ As part of the visa application process,
you may be required to prove that you
are able to pay the full tuition fees and
additional expenses for
accommodation, transport, books and
personal expenses.
Subject to change in Home Office Regulations
Delayed Visa
Should your visa application be delayed by
more than two weeks after the courses has
started, we can transfer your enrolment to the
next term, provided we receive written
confirmation from you.
Visa Support
Our dedicated staff can provide you with
specialist advice on the visa application
procedure.
In case of a visa refusal, LSBF analyses all the
reasons given for this decision and advises
and assists you on the next possible steps.
They provide you with encouragement and
support every step of the way and will explain
all the options available to you in detail.
In the event of visa refusal, fee refunds are
made on presentation of the original visa
refusal letter with a deduction of £150 for
Administrative Costs and on condition that
LSBF is notified 15 days prior to the
commencement of the course originally
offered. Alternately your deposit can be
transferred to an alternative period of study
at LSBF within 12 months.
Student Accommodation
Prior to granting a visa, the authorities will
require written proof of accommodation
arrangements. LSBF is a non-residential
school, however we offer valuable
accommodation advice to all our students.
For example, we offer a list of property agents
and property websites to our students who
are in need of accommodation.
Airport Pickup
For international students, LSBF can arrange
a taxi or mini-cab pick up service to transfer
you from the airport to your accommodation.
You will be expected to pay the driver directly.
However, we will give you an estimate of
the fare.

Complete the LSBF Application Form
In each exam term you must select a minimum
of three papers. This is required in order to
satisfy the Immigration Authorities and
immigration requirements of 15 hours per
week formal tuition between Monday to Friday.
If you need to apply for a visa, applications are
likely to be much more successful and cost
effective if you apply for a minimum of a one
year course, which is two exam terms.
Send Form and Payment
Send the completed LSBF application form,
together with payment/deposit to the address
on the back cover. See terms and conditions
for full details and sign the application form to
show that you have read them. We cannot
process your application without this.
Once payment has been processed
the Enrolment Letter and appropriate visa
letters will be posted to you. This letter is
confirmation of your booking. Full course
details will be sent to you approximately
two to three weeks prior to course
commencement.
