St.

Mary’s Episcopal Church Branding

Collision History
Collision Media was birthed out of a church plant, and our story continues by helping churches of
all sizes implement creative and functional brands and websites. Founder Tommy Bailey grew up in
the church as the son of a pastor. He saw first hand the need for churches to have vibrant, smart,
and creative communication, but also intrinsically understood many of the unique needs of growing
churches of all ages and sizes. Collision Media was birthed out of this need. For over seven years
Collision Media has been a consulting, design, and development resource for churches and non-
profits world-wide providing a full range of professional marketing, advertising and promotional
services. Our team is heavily involved in their own respective churches and Collision Media works
with the local needs of our home city, Oklahoma City. Our desire is to equip churches and non-
profits across the globe with the tools and creativity to interact and impact the 21st Century.

Our Approach
Each project at Collision is a team project. St. Mary’s would be paired with a design team that
includes a designer/developer and a project manager. After an initial creative meeting our team
would start with the development of a church brand, which would include a logo, color palette,
collateral design, and a branding style guide.

After the branding project is completed we would begin the second phase of the project, web
development. Our web development process is similar to our branding process. We would begin
with an initial creative meeting, and then our designer/developers would begin work on a custom
website design proof. Our proofing process is set up to allow as many proofs as necessary to
achieve the design and layout that St. Mary’s needs.

Both our branding and website design process all begin with the above mentioned initial creative
meeting. We spend a lot of time and preparation for this meeting, and value the experience so that
we have a great understanding of your church’s culture, mission, and vision. Our primary clientele
is the church community, and we understand the unique needs of each church.

LOGO STANDARDS
FIRST CHURCH LOGO STANDARDS

The following symbol has been developed for First CHurch. There are three configurations of the First Church logo:
—one with a SQUARED orientation, and another with a LONG LEFT JUSTIFIED orientation. Either version may be
used. Use your best discretion on which orientation will look best in your document.
To maintain consistency, proportions must not be altered.

STANDARD ONE
Loving God. Loving Others. Serving the world.

STANDARD TWO

UNACCEPTABLE USE

• Condensing, extending, skewing, distorting,

manipulating, modifying, or redrawing the logo in any way
• Printing the logo in a screen or texture
• Printing type or other elements inside the logo
• Altering the proportional relationships or the verical and

COLOR STANDARDS
FIRST CHURCH COLOR STANDARDS

Standardizing a strong color palette will enhance the impact of the First Church brand. Used consistently over time,
colors become associated with organizations. Consistent use of the First Church color palette will make our church
more recognizable and uniform. It provides a strong visual link across a wide range of applications.

TYPEFACE STANDARDS
FIRST CHURCH TYPEFACE STANDARDS

When used carefully and consistently, typography can be a powerful tool that can help us to create a constant and
credible brand style. Helvetica Neue has been chosen for most applications because it is modern, simple and
readable. For simplicity and ease of use, we only use select weights of Helvetica Neue.

For internal word-processed communications, presentations and web sites, Arial, may be substituted. No other
typefaces, no matter how similar they appear, may be used.

WEBSITE STANDARDS
WEBSITE STANDARDS
First Church’s Web Design Standards were developed to ensure that the church has a consistent - and consistently
positive - web presence, internally and externally. These standards support the church’s brand strategy and require
that all First Church web pages (internal and external) adopt a common and consistent look and feel. All First
Church’s sites will also use common and intuitive web navigation tools that will make it easier for visitors to locate
information about First Church and its ministries. For all standard text the web typeface for First Church is
Tahoma. Only variations in size and colors within the pallete are acceptable
