COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Study of the fundamental concepts in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of
typical power plants such as steam power plant, diesel electric plant, geothermal power plant as well as
other generating plants using non-conventional sources of energy.
CREDIT UNITS: 3

GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE


After completing this course, the student must be able to:
1. Acquire knowledge in the design and selection of equipment for power plants.
2. Apply technical knowledge in the design, operation and maintenance of simple power
plants.
3. Prepare technical report which includes plans and specifications.

Previous (Midterm Grade) = 100% x 40%


Present Grade (Final Period) = 100% x 60%
