Dear Charter Member of Carpenters Local 156,

Pursuant to our General President’s decision if you have been a Carpenter in Local 247, 1715,
306, 1388, 1273, 1065, 1001, 1707, 2067 or a Carpenter in a mixed local in the Oregon and SW
Washington bargaining area, you are now a charter member of Carpenters Local 156. Local 156
will be located at 276 Warner Milne Road, Oregon City, OR 97045. Meetings are the second
Saturday of each month at 11am.

Local over the counter dues will be set at $20.00 a month due to the reduction of overhead
and duplication of services.

Additionally, as of Monday January 24th, 2011, the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of
Carpenters (PNWRCC) will begin using a computerized automated system for Job Dispatching
and Member Communication, called MIX 20/20 from Tahoe Systems. This system is currently
being utilized by several other Carpenters Councils including a 10 state Millwright Council. We
have been using it successfully for Trade Show Dispatching, Shipwrights and the State of
Montana.

MIX 20/20 will call available Members who have the required skills and who have designated a
preference for the geographic location of the requested job. After of January 24th 2011, you will
be required to call MIX 20/20 at 1-866-649-5463 to place yourself on the Out-of Work list if and
when you become unemployed and are available for re-employment.

Members who have been on the Out-of-Work list for the longest period of time will be called
first for available jobs depending on their designated skills and geographic preference. You will
retain your place on any lists that you are currently on during this transition. Employers
may still call for you by name as under the old system. Except for special circumstances, MIX
will place calls for job openings between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday through
Friday. Calls will also be placed on weekends if a job dispatch request requires it.

You will be able to access MIX 20/20 anytime, day or night, by calling toll free to 1- 866-649-
5463. MIX requires the use of a touch-tone phone. You will be instructed to enter your Member
ID and PIN. Your UBC Member ID without the U is your Member ID. Initially, your PIN will
be the last four digits of your SSN. You will be instructed to change your PIN the first time you
call MIX, so please have a 4 digit number in mind when you call the system for the first time.
Use a number which you can easily remember.

The MIX 20/20 system is currently in place and operational. Please take this time to call it to
familiarize yourself with the system at your earliest convenience.
When you call the MIX 20/20 system at 1-866-649-5463, you will be able to:

• Place yourself on the Out-of- Work/Availability list

• Remove yourself from the Out-of-Work list/Availability list
• Hear Council and Local News Announcements
• Hear the listing of your designated skills
• Hear your list of Geographical Work areas

It is also necessary that you complete and mail in the enclosed Carpenter skills data sheet.
If you have not completed a Skills Data Sheet, you cannot be matched to requested skills.
No changes can be made to your skills data sheet verbally. For any questions, contact the
Dispatch Office at the Regional Council at 1-800-953-6444.

Although this is a time of great change, it is also a time of new opportunities. While we are
proud of where we have been and the local unions that helped us to achieve so much, our
General President has signaled that we must continue to adapt to the industry’s changes or be left
behind. I know that you will join with me to make Local 156 a success.

I (print name), assign to the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters,

from my earnings, a sum equal to the Union’s membership dues, assessments, and initiation fee (the Union will notify my Employer of the current
amount). I authorize and direct my Employer to deduct such sum and remit the money to the Union monthly. This assignment is irrevocable for one (1)
year from this date or until the termination of the Labor Agreement, whichever occurs first. This assignment shall be renewed automatically, for succes-
sive 12 month periods, unless the Union and my employer receive my written notice of termination of this assignment not more than twenty (20) days
and not less than ten (10) days prior to renewal of the assignment. This authorization is effective regardless of my status as a member, non-member, or
“financial core” payer and applies regardless of any future resignation of membership on my part.

I hereby authorize the UNITED BROTHERHOOD OF CARPENTERS AND JOINERS OF AMERICA to act as my collective bargaining agent in
dealing with my employer in regard to wages, hours, and other conditions of employment. All previous authorizations made by me are revoked.
