2 Safety Information
In this operating manual, the following symbols are used to indicate important safety
information relevant to the user. They can be found in the various sections of this
manual wherever such information is required. It is essential to observe and obey the
safety information (especially the warnings).
WARNING
This indicates possible hazards for personnel (particularly from electrical equipment).
WARNING
This refers to possible hazards for personnel which could result from improper use of
system components.
CAUTION
This indicates the possibility of damage to or functional impairment of system
components.
NOTE:
This contains important supplementary information for the user concerning the
system or system components and also provides additional tips and suggestions.
In lists of instructions, this symbol indicates an action that has to be performed by the
user.
The operator is required to ensure that the statutory accident prevention regulations
are observed for all work and that all possible measures are taken appropriate to the
existing circumstances in order to avoid injury to personnel and damage to property.

3 General
Note:
If the VMS/FMS or ETAMATIC is disconnected from the PC while the software is in
setup mode, the operating mode changes to STOP after the monitoring time has
expired (time-out). The monitoring time (time-out) can be set using the parameter 828.
As of version 4 of the FMS/VMS and ETAMATIC, the connection to the PC can be
terminated in setup mode without first having to switch off the system. To do so, the
connection to the PC must be changed from online mode to offline mode. The query
"Synchronize Data With FMS To Ensure Data Integrity?" must be confirmed with
"Yes". Further information is given under the menu command "Connect/Offline".
