Subject: - Power Infrastructure in Sirsa district.

At present, Sirsa and its surrounding area is being supplied power from 220
kV substation Sirsa & Rania.

Improvement of Power Supply position in Sirsa Area


In order to improve the supply position in Sirsa area, a no. of transmission
works have been approved by HVPNL. LILO of existing 220 kV Fatehabad - Sirsa
line at 400 kV substation Fatehabad of PGCIL is likely to be commissioned shortly,
after which the 200 kV substation Sirsa would be connected with 400 kV substation
Fatehabad and there would be considerable increase in power supply to Sirsa area.
Power position would further improve in Sirsa area after the commissioning of
1200 MW HPGCL Hisar Thermal Power Station, power from which is likely to be
available in the year 2010. 400 kV substation Nahiyawali has been approved by
HVPNL to connect Sirsa area with Hisar Thermal Power Station. Funds are being
tied up with World Bank for 400 kV substation Nahiyawali and likely to be
commissioned by October 2010.
