PANAX UV
1. INTRODUCTION

Panax UV-pigments are special UV-sensitive pigments, which emit at specific

wavelength, when excited by UV-light only.
When absorbing the energy of a ultraviolet light source, the pigment atoms jump to a
higher energy level and when returning to their initial status, they release energy as light
of a specific wavelength equivalent to the difference of the energy potentials.
Practically the pigments show red, blue or green colours and when be mixed together a
variety of other colours can be obtained as well.

2. FEATURES

Panax UV pigments offer outstanding features depending on the product chemistry:

 Panax Inorganic UV-fluorescent pigments show excellent resistance to

heat and weathering

 Panax Organic UV-fluorescent pigments show an outstanding brightness

and good resistance to chemicals, heat and weather

 Panax UV-dichromatic fluorescent pigments offer special application

possibilities as they emit different colours under short and long-wave
UV-light.

5. APPLICATION

Panax UV pigments can be used with synthetic resins in moulding process as well as in
both paint and ink application.
The Panax IF-Series of inorganic UV-sensitive pigments is compatible with both water
and solvent based systems.
The Panax PKS-Series of organic UV-sensitive pigments and the Panax Dichromatic UV-
sensitive pigments are specially recommended with solvent based systems.

The main applications for the Panax UV-sensitive pigments are:

 Forgery-proof and Security application (Currency Paper, Credit Cards, Passports,

Lottery Tickets, etc)

 Advertisement and Decoration application (Signboards, W all-Paints)

 Application as “markers”
