The acousticpearls panel
Panels designed and manufactured by acousticpearls combine
acoustic comfort with timeless aesthetics. Defined shapes and
select colors are blended into a harmonic piece. The components
of the panels are the same for all models. The frame strengthens
and protects the highly-effective, impact-resistant acoustic

materials at the core of the panels. The unobtrusive openings
on the back of the panels provide for greater ease and flexibility
when installing the barely five centimeter thick panels. The
panel’s fabric exterior is unique: High-quality materials enfold the
core of the acoustic panel, projecting an image of a closed entity.

Sizes
The fabric-wrapped acoustic panels by acousticpearls are avail-
able in five standard sizes based on a unit of 60 centimeters.
All sizes can be freely combined with each other. In addition all
panels can be positioned either horizontally or vertically.

Designs
The acousticpearls collection includes the product families
MONO, DUO1, DUO 2, and STRIPE. Each product family features
a unique design that provides the panel surface with its distinc-
tive appearance. MONO panels radiate pure simplicity using
only one color. Both DUO families with their two-tone surfaces
are harmonic and available in the classic ratio of 1:2. The STRIPE
design stands out with its thin vertical stripe breaking the panel
surface. All designs can be freely combined with the colors and
sizes featured by acousticpearls.

made of virgin wool from the Denmark-based company Kvadrat.
All 80 hues have been carefully selected for our own collection

Acoustic properties
acousticpearls panels are highly effective in reducing the long
reverberation times and background noises in rooms. They are
effective over a particularly large range of frequencies and feature
the highest sound-absorption class (A). The panels can signifi-
cantly improve speech recognition and increase people’s ability
to grasp information and to work efficiently. In addition they
are tested and certified according to EN ISO 354-2003. When the
acoustics of a room are well-balanced, the room’s atmosphere
is pleasant. The balance in the acoustics creates a tranquil setting
and provides a means to focus on the matter at hand.

All panel sizes are based on a unit of 60 cm. The effectiveness of a 60 x 240 panel corresponds to excellent
four 60 x 60 panels or two 60 x 120 panels or one 120 x 120 panel.

The Acoustic Planner

The Acoustic Planner will help to determine the number of
panels required to improve the acoustics of your room. Take this
arrangement as a starting point for creating an effective setup
using acousticpearls panels. The table is based on the equations
established in DIN 18041. For the table here, the reverberation
times of each different type of room were calculated.
STEP 1 – Select your type of room
As a guide we have provided three different types of rooms
(small, medium, large) with a maximum size of 35 m² and a ceiling
height of approximately 2.7 m. The properties of each room
are always the same: primarily sound-reflecting materials (hard
floors, smooth walls, a ceiling with poor acoustic qualities,
glass surfaces, few pieces of furniture).
STEP 2 – Define the desired acoustic improvement
Using the categories “slight,” “good,” and “excellent,” you can
select the level of improvement for the acoustics of the room
and determine the necessary number of panels in the proper
combination. The “excellent” category corresponds to the
DIN 18041 recommendation for ideal room acoustics.
STEP 3 – Tally the number of panels required
Panels measuring 60 x 240 have been established as a basis
for each level of improvement. It is the minimum number of
panels required for the specific level of improvement in each
type of room. The options shown here can be varied with the
corresponding number in other sizes.*

Wall installation – the screw system
Hang it up – just like you would a picture. Whether horizon-
tally or vertically, all panels can be hung up on a wall using the
convenient acousticpearls screw system. You can effortlessly
adjust the panel’s position thanks to the eccentric design of the
screw’s head. With a simple turn of the screw, the element is

hanging properly. The panels can be installed precisely as you
had imagined, as an individual element or in combination with
others. This type of installation typically includes several panels
that are arranged on the wall with spacing in-between.

Wall installation – the rail system
The panels appear to be suspended in front of the wall, and
it‘s a breeze to install them this way. Hung close together the
individual panels transform into individual surfaces. The elegant
aluminum rails do their job, but can stay out of sight. They
provide room for numerous panels, depending on the rail length.
Adapters by acousticpearls ensure that the panels maintain

the correct distance from the wall and are positioned properly
along the rails. These adapters can be screwed into the openings
on the back of the panel, comfortably and easily. The greater
distance of the panels from the wall itself offers the utmost in
flexibility and a significant improvement in the acoustic proper-
ties in terms of using surface space optimally.

Suspended from the ceiling – the YOYO suspension system
Simple and meticulously designed, the unpretentious YOYO
suspension system lets you suspend panels from the ceiling any-
where in a room. There are round openings on the back of the
panel for this purpose. Two panels can be placed back-to-back
and hung at any height using the steplessly adjustable YOYO
mounting fixtures of the suspension system. Voilà, a lightweight

floating element that makes a statement: You can create optical
partitioning elements between workspaces or anywhere else
that needs sound control treatment without any available walls.
In particular, when improving the zones of spanning, open
