The public sector employees will still pay Florida Atlantic University College Republicans
less money for better health benefits and a
more generous pension. But that’s not Host Rep. Allen West at Boca Raton Campus
enough for them. They want it all –
forever. So they brought out the big guns,
up to and including President Obama.
They’re hoping to win in the streets what
they lost at the ballot box. They took
these modest proposals and nationalized
them. So now lots of states will get to
vote on similar issues. It’s coming to
Ohio, New Jersey and, of course, Florida.

The Republican Club of the Northern Palm Beaches kicked off
the year at the Yardhouse Restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens on
January 31st. Florida State House Representative Pat Rooney
swore in the recently elected officers of the club.

REC MEMBERSHIP REPORT

From your Asst. Vice Chairs Sue Snowden and Marilyn Parmet

Recently at the Republican Executive Committee
meeting of February 9th your Membership Vice Chairs made
a very successful personal appeal for funds to be used for
mailing purposes. Mark Hoch, our Political Director, found
almost 600 precincts without any representation on the
REC. Mark also identified approximately 3,000 “Super
Voter” households in which both HUSBAND and WIFE
were consistent, reliable voters in these unrepresented
districts. In one night we collected $600 from the members
of the REC. We will use that money to pay for hard copy
mail invitations to send to these “Super Voter” households
to invite to become REC members. REC Committeeman
Jay Goldfarb volunteered to help us with the mailings
through his printing business (Many thanks to Jay).
Additionally, we have made appeals to members of
various GOP clubs throughout the county to become REC
members. We continue to ask all REC members to look
within your own list of friends to invite new members to
join the REC. Thank you.

Being a Republican means understanding that we
believe in having equal rights, equal justice, and equal
opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex,
or national origin. It means believing in lower taxes,
less regulation, and that the proper function of
government is to do for the people those things that
have to be done but cannot be done by individuals.
Being a Republican
means you love your
country. You
understand that we
have checks and
balances between the
different branches of
governments and that
each political side has
different views and
opinions. Robert Taft

"Federalism" model of
the American Republic. His faith was in basic
American values and the abilities of the people to seek
Liberty. Achieving this goal requires that such liberty
is founded upon an economic system based on free
enterprise, a political system based on citizen
participation, and national independence and
sovereignty for our country.
The Greatest Republican understands, as Ronald
Reagan once said in 1964 “If we lose freedom here,
there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand
on Earth.” And this idea that government is beholden
to the people, that it has no other source of power
except to sovereign people, is still the newest and most
unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to
man. We Republicans believe in America’s capacity
for self-government; we will never abandon the
American Revolution and confess that a small,
intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our
lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.

Progress in America, our uncompromising
commitment to democracy and the promise of our
future is what makes America great. And as the
founding fathers before us believed, God is a major
factor in the creation of this nation.
The Greatest Republican does not give up. Every
day you are back out defending our country. You
attend town hall meetings, you write letters to the
editor, and you join and support local Republican
groups. You make sure your elected officials are being
held accountable.
From walking with candidates, making phone calls
for candidates, sign waving, fundraising, and attending
tea parties, you do not give up, and you get up day
after day every election cycle. You give with money,
with your time, and you give from your heart!
You are a veteran; you serve in the military. You
are a doctor, a lawyer, a plumber, a factory worker, a
teacher, an unemployed worker, and a business owner.
You are a mom, a dad, an aunt, an uncle, a grandma,
and a grandpa. You are a brother, a sister, and a friend.
And, the Greatest Republican is YOU!

overruns and eternal operating deficits. President
Obama wanted us to borrow money we don’t have,
from countries we don’t like, to buy trains we won’t
ride. Coming soon will be modified Teacher Tenure,
budget caps and immigration reform. And to cap it all
off, look for the legislative dynamic duo: Reverse Card
Check and Tort Reform, the end of the taxpayer
support of the Democratic Party. They might actually
have to go to work.
The lines in the sand are clear. It’s “We the people”
versus “We the unions.” Do the taxpayers work for the
unions or do the government employees work for the
taxpayers? It’s coming here – and soon. As Joyce
Kaufman admonishes: “Stay on the wall.”

A HAMAN IN EVERY
GENERATION

T his month we celebrate the festival of Purim. While
there are many themes associated with this festival, one of
the overriding themes is the incredible victory that God
brought to His people Israel at a most difficult time. But
has not this been the story throughout history? It seems that
in every generation a Haman has arisen to plot the
destruction of the Jewish people. In every case, God has
thwarted that plan. It often seems to go back to the
accusation that Haman made about the Jews before the
King: “There is a certain people dispersed and scattered
among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom
whose customs are different from those of all other people
and who do not obey the king’s laws; it is not in the king’s
best interest to tolerate them” (Esther 3:8). And so
Haman’s lies convinced the king to issue the decree to
destroy the Jewish people, and Haman even was willing to
pay the cost out of his own money. The plot would have
been successful had not Mordecai and Esther intervened.
Of course we know that even though God is not mentioned
once in the Book of Esther, yet His hand is present
throughout. He brought about a great deliverance and
victory, and the tables were turned on Haman and his sons,
who were hanged. As a result, we celebrate this great event
every year.
However, it is important to remember that this
demonically inspired attempt to destroy the Jewish people
has been repeated throughout history, even to today. We
read in Psalm 83 about how Israel’s enemies conspired to
destroy her. They are portrayed as God’s enemies:
“O God do not keep silent, be not quiet, O God, be
not still.
See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear
their heads.
With cunning they conspire against your people; they
plot against those you cherish.
“Come”, they say, “let us destroy them as a nation,
that the name of Israel be remembered no more”
(Psalm 83:1-4).
The psalmist goes on to describe an alliance of nations who
are plotting against Israel. One of those nations is Amalek,
from whom Haman was descended. These are the people

that attacked Israel as they came out of Egypt, of whom
God told Moses to destroy and blot out their memory.
We see that same spirit of Amalek at work in our modern
time, whether it be in a Hitler, or an Ahmadinejad. The
story is the same. “Lets get rid of these people because they
are the problem in the world”. But God has a different
view. God says that Israel is inscribed on the palm of His
hand. He says that she is the apple of His eye, and that
those who come against her will be destroyed.
As we celebrate Purim this year, let us remember that
there are still those that plot Israel’s destruction. And at the
same time, God still has His hand upon her. As the prophet
Isaiah wrote 2700 years ago:
“All who rage against you will surely be ashamed
and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as
nothing and perish. Though you search for your
enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage
war against you will be as nothing at all” (Isaiah
41:11-12). As was Esther for her time, so have we
“come to royal position for such a time as this”, to
take a stand and assert our kingly and priestly roles to
pray and support Israel.

TRUTH IN EDUCATION
PROTEST
Recently, Alison Rampersad
contacted me, your Grapevine
Correspondent, about the Florida Department of
Education-approved Social Studies textbooks being used
in our county’s schools. In those texts, over 200 excerpts
were identified by Citizens for National Security as
having pro-Islam, anti-Judeo/Christian biases. As a
result, a protest against the Palm Beach County School
Board was set for February 22nd. But the protest was
cancelled once it was learned that the School Board’s
Social Studies Department decided to comply with the
group’s request to require that classroom teachers
properly explain to the students what the errors are in the part in our local government.

Florida Department of Education, which focused on
keeping pressure on the textbook publishers to publish
the correct information and not factual errors.

a motivational speaker from
Daytona who shared a wealth of
information with our small group.
Patchett started the Volusia Tax
Reform group (VTR), an
advocacy and action organization
made up of a diverse group of
citizens wanting to address the
soaring property taxes, rising fees
and rampant corruption that is
destroying home values, killing
jobs and the overall economy.
VTR’s mission statement according to their website is
"to promote greater government efficiency in an effort
to improve our economy and the quality of life for
Floridians."

Volusia Tax Reform has an executive board made
up of professional business leaders, who meet
regularly to discuss strategy, legislative actions and,
formulating ideas to bring about reform and
accountability. The group’s research committees
look in-depth at proposals made by local and state
leaders. It also has a budget review committee for each
of their local governments. This is a pretty intense group
of organizations at their best. You can find them online at
www.LowerTaxesNow.org.
Patchett went on to tell us about the "FLORIDA
FOREVER PROGRAM" and the purchasing of city,
county and state property, known as "AGENDA 21".
Patchett urged us to do our own research to get the
complete picture of the intentions of those promoting
Agenda 21. She informed us that the local City Manager
runs government, makes all the decisions, and is not held
accountable. Patchett’s most important point to us was to
get involved; to get on a board, any board, just to take
CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE
January 29th was the first of the monthly meetings in
2011 for Dean Taffel’s Constitution Committee. The
discussion was on Central Banking, how it started, and
where we are today with the banking system. It was an
enlightening and informative session with a power point
presentation by Dean, who outlined the banking systems
throughout history, from the

present day. Included was the Sir
Josiah Stamp (President of the
Bank of England), the second
richest man in the world in the
1920's, and Charles Lindbergh Sr.,
Dean also spoke on the Federal
Reserve Act, legal tender law, and
federal reserve notes. The
discussion could plainly be
summed up as follows: “Whoever
controls the money controls the
country.”
The Constitution Committee meets the last Saturday of
each month at Cardello's Italian Restaurant, Lake Park,

FAU COLLEGE REPUBLICANS
UPDATE

After a nearly three year hiatus, Florida Atlantic
University has a College Republican chapter once
again! Our founders, Ashley Anastasi and Jon Taylor,
were instrumental in bringing the club back and
worked diligently to give FAU students a more
sensible option than the College Democrats. At the
beginning of this year, the club had no members, and
now we are proud to announce that our roster includes
over 100 members. FAU College Republicans were
recently recognized by the Florida Federation of
College Republicans (FFCR) as an official chapter.
Due to having over 100 members the club will be able
to send nine representatives to the annual FFCR
convention. In addition, five of our FAU College
Republicans traveled to Washington DC to attend
CPAC 2011 and had a wonderful time hearing rousing
speeches and soaking up the rich history of our
nation’s capitol.
There are many opportunities ahead for the club.
We are participating in the Students for Concealed
Carry on Campus annual empty holster protest, as well
as filing a bill with the Student Government to allow
A&S fees to fund firearm education and safety classes.
We have invited Congressman Allen West to speak to
our group [see Page 8], as well as other local
politicians. Finally, we are spreading the word about
our chapter on campus by hosting an informational

table all week and posting signs to direct people to our
meetings. FAU College Republicans are back!
Monday club meetings start at 5pm and are held in
the Sugar Palm Room upstairs of the Student Union at
FAU Boca campus. The Thursday evening meetings
start at 6pm and are held in the Queen Palm Room in
the same building. Committee meetings start 30 min
prior to the general meetings.

CONTROLLED: EVIDENCE FROM

Are Americans “independent free thinking people in
charge of their own destiny”? If you think the answer is yes,
then think again? If you think that OTHER Americans are
mind controlled but you are not, then you may want to
rethink that as well.

Lincoln Day is "the" annual fundraiser for the
Republican Party of Palm Beach County. The success
of this event rests on the shoulders of the person in
charge. He/she must be a decision maker, a problem
solver, an arbitrator, a social director, and must
especially be a calm, cool negotiator. We are all
fortunate to employ such a person. This past Lincoln
Day had all the drama one can imagine, or not, that is
part of organizing a large event. It is a tribute to the
dedication, quick thinking, organizational skills,
calmness and wonderful sense of humor belonging to
Greg Langowski that this year’s Lincoln Day was as
successful, in all aspects, as it was. Thank you Greg.

Obama’s Missteps Worsened Egypt Crisis
Barack Obama could have put as much pressure on
Hosni Mubarak as he wanted to - but behind the
scenes. That way Mubarak could have saved some
face and left with his own respect intact. Respect is
key to Muslims and Obama made Mubarak into a
puppet – or tried to make him into one. The Democrat

narcissism drove them to put Obama in front of the
cameras – and the world – to give commands to Hosni
Mubarak, running down whatever remained of
Mubarak’s credibility and further deteriorating the
respect the world used to have for America. And, as is
usual for the leftists, the opposite of their intentions
occurred. Mubarak reacted and sent in agents
provocateurs to raise the heat, and now the conflict is
infinitely more intense and volatile than it was or likely
had to be. Yes, Egypt needs change, but that change
most probably could have been better manipulated in
secret and made to appear that it was “made in Egypt”.
Instead, King Obama’s narcissism, his NEED for
adulation - especially from Muslims, wrecked any
chance of that and only intensified the anti-Israel and
anti-American factors in this crisis.
That “shining city on a hill” a REAL President once
referred to, sure looks a lot less shiny to the rest of the
world today.

Joyce Vedral, a PhD in English Literature (NYU),

taught in the New York City school system, grades K-
12, and then became a professor of English Literature,
teaching at Pace University (NY). At one point, Joyce

Relations", was the nephew of Sigmund Freud and a top
consultant to CBS network founder William Paley. In his

Network Lead Opposition to Construction Effort.
Boynton Beach, FL, Temple Shaarei Shalom. February
17, 2011 -- Tom Trento of the Florida Security
Council hosted a very important talk on the proposed
mosque to be built near the site of the former World
Trade Center, where 2,753 innocent people lost their
lives. Also invited to speak was Andy Sullivan
(pictured in the blue hard hat), a construction worker
who witnessed the attacks of 9/11 first hand. He was
directly across the street working a construction job
and watched the first plane strike the North Tower.
Sullivan, Trento, and Jason Campbell of the Christian
Action Network presented a special screening of
“Sacrificed Survivors: The Untold Story of the Ground
Zero Mosque.” In
the film, many of
the 9/11 survivors
discussed the pain
they’ve endured
from losing their
friends and family
to terror. They also
expressed fervent
opposition to the
construction of a
“victory” mosque at the site, which remains to this day
a burial ground for many victims whose remains have
never been recovered. Particularly touching were the
images of the youngest victim of the attacks, a two
year-old girl named Christine Hanson. She was
traveling with her parents Peter and Sue Kim aboard
Flight 175, which crashed into the South Tower of the
World Trade Center.
After the film, Mr. Sullivan updated the audience on
developments concerning the 9/11 Memorial—that
members of the NYPD and NYFD who perished will
not have their ranks inscribed with their names on the
Memorial. Additionally, reported Mr. Sullivan, the
memorial project’s executive directors have been
consulting with Saudi scholars on the appropriate
language to be placed on the Memorial walls. Thus,
words such as “jihad” and “Islam” will not be found at
the Memorial. “These Saudis are directing our

said Mr. Sullivan, eliciting loud gasps from the
horrified audience.
As he said in the film, Sullivan reiterated that radical
Islamists have a long history of constructing mosques
on the ruins of its
defeated enemies. “You

mosque.”
Criticizing the City’s
decision to allow the
construction of the
mosque at the former
Burlington Coat Factory
building, Sullivan said
“The whole narrative of the ruling class just
steamrolling over the will of the people has got to
stop…and we can stop it….we have to show up at
these town halls, at these meetings…” To learn more
