From the beginning, we all know that God hath said to us that we should take care of our

environment. It’s a gift from Him and for that, appreciation is needed. So, today, if we take a look to our
environment, people really did their job, making ultimate changes in our environment – in the sea, land
and air. However, we should not give ourselves applause because these changes were not the results of
perseverance or obedience. It is a sign of irresponsibility towards nature.

A change in nature which results to enormous calamities is called Pollution. There are different
kinds of pollution namely: Water pollution, Air Pollution and Land Pollution. Land pollution is the
degradation of Earth's land surfaces which occurs when waste is not disposed properly. We don’t have
to wonder what the reasons of this phenomenon are because it’s the same answers we know –
industrialization, urbanization, improper solid wastes disposal, kaingin system, illegal logging and etc.

Moving on, let’s discuss some unusual causes of Land pollution. Modern mining, projects
involved in mining leave behind disrupted communities, damaged landscapes, and polluted water. It
also affects ground and surface waters, the aquatic life, vegetation, soils, animals, and the human
health. In Solid Cement, we could see that a particular mountain was bombed by the workers just to get
some rock. What if God allowed a big rock to fall? Death is not that near.

Second, the use of insecticides and herbicides are used to rid farms of pests which damage
crops. However, they also contribute in degrading nutrients from the soil and the harmful substances
from these can be absorbed by the soil. So, if farmers continue to use commercial products like these
which contain DDT’s and etc, we would end up harvesting toxic crops.

As a result of Land pollution, here is the famous Erosion. If you remember last September, a
landslide happened here in Cherry Hills, Antipolo. It explains the phenomenon: When typhoons are very
strong and there are no trees going to hold the soil, erosion will happen and kill people living in each
houses constructed in that land. And aside from erosion, land pollution also exterminates wild life due
to the loss of habitats (illegal logging) , destroyed vegetation and etc.

From North, East, West and South often termed as News, we could hear and see the people who
experience the revenge of our Mother Earth. Together, we should start to change ourselves. Why
ourselves? because if we know how to change from an irresponsible person, we can also save our
nature. Lastly, be reminded that God always forgive, man sometimes forgives but nature doesn’t
forgive.
