MINUTES OF MEETING

Group meeting # 04
Date: 28/10/2010

Meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM at the Dame St. Library - Room-DS Study
Room 1.

Quorum was established.

Agenda:

• The Meeting began with the Acting Secretary, Abith Ganesh clearly
mentioning the importance of the history of Dyson to be specified in the
presentation with a clear mention of the important dates and
achievements. Rest of the group members supported the idea.

• Babar Baig did come up with important dates and facts of the Dyson’s
history profile.

• Dhanush Nadil came up with interesting and important facts relating to


the Organisational structure and unique innovative techniques of Dyson.
He also clearly mentioned some of the legal issues concerning Dyson in

recent years which could clearly be mentioned in the presentation.
Dhanush stated that he would send some important links that would be
important for the case study.

• Deepak Kumar did mention the competition faced by Dyson from other
small competitors. He also suggested that a detailed study to be
undertaken by the group to suggest ideas that Dyson should undertake to
explore the Far East and the Asian market.

• Eoin Lynch did mention the new products that Dyson has come up with.
He also did suggest that new facts and ideas be mentioned in the
presentation and also mentioned the impact the job losses in the UK has
had in the organisation.

• Dhanush Nadil clearly stated the Strengths and Weaknesses of Dyson and
Jerin Mathew pointed out that the SWOT analysis could be linked up with
the history, structural options and cultural challenges of Dyson.

• After all the discussion, all the areas that needed to be researched were
put together and the group decided that all the members should come up
with individual reports related to the 4 main areas in the presentation.

2. Cultural challenges and possible action-Dyson

3. Current Information and Knowledge management-suggest areas of


concern and opportunities of improvement.

4. Impact of culture-use of knowledge and information resources.

Agenda for the next meeting

• Next Meeting is scheduled on 4th of November at 2.00 pm at Dame St.


Library -

• Room-DS Study Room 1 with the new Secretary yet to be decided.

• The main agenda of the meeting shall be the discussion and review of the
individual reports and linking them up for the group presentation.
