I am delighted to inaugurate the Electricity Distribution Franchise
Training programme for the final year EEE students of this college. I would like to
greet all of you on this great occasion. The objective of this training programme is
to promote Rural Electrification projects all over the country and fulfilling the
REC’s commitments to provide reliable & affordable power to villages. It further
promotes job opportunities to millions of young engineers like you.
when I see you all, you are very important component of this
society and the country as well witnessing the unique ambience in your faces
What is that ambience? I call that ambience as, “A scene of sweat”. It is the
farmers in the agricultural field, it is the fishermen in the rough seas, it is the
worker in the industries, teachers in the schools, knowledge workers in the
laboratories, health workers removing the pain at all times in healthcare
institutions and many other people, who have to be always remembered by this
great country for their meritorious job. it is one of this kind restructuring the
activities of distribution companies (and electricity boards) through the selective
use of franchising which will bring prosperity to rural India.

The very purpose of this training programme is to help you to

understand the conceptual framework for various models of Rural Franchise
Agreements, to impart knowledge on the basics of distribution business covering
management, technical, commercial and legal aspects and to help you to
understand and apply mechanisms for quick efficiency gains and improved
customer service.

I would like to recall a training programme “Mapping the bottom of

the Pyramid “A rural BPO Gram IT, established in Jallikakinada center has
trained unemployed graduates in IT skills and spoken English and employed
millions of people to do computer operations such as transaction processing of
Human Resource data of software companies resulted in the creation
innumerous jobs with the minimum earning per month, which is 3 times that of
the earlier earning potential.
This training programme is similar in nature and its aim is to make you as
an Entrepreneur because every successful entrepreneur brings about benefits
not only for himself/ herself but for the region or country as a whole.

I request you to have a enthusiastic vision on this training programme

which will bring Enormous personal financial gain, Self-employment offering
more job satisfaction and flexibility of the work force , Employment for others,
often in better jobs.
