What is ACCA?
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
(ACCA) was founded in 1904. Today, it is one of the world’s
4 leading and fastest-growing international accountancy
organizations, with 404,000 students and 140,000 members
across 170 countries.
ACCA is a professional accountancy qualification that is
recognized around the world. Once you qualify, ACCA
membership opens doors to a successful career in
accountancy practice or finance, and increases your
earning potential. It is highly regarded in the fields of
banking, management and consulting, and provides a
major advantage in competing for senior roles.
ACCA Global Mutual Recognition
ACCA has entered a global mutual recognition agreement
with the Certified General Accountants Association of
Canada (CGA-Canada) which provides a route for qualified
members of either body to become a member of the
other body, and enjoy the benefits of membership of each
organization. This is just one of many agreements that have
been signed with professional accounting organizations all
over the world, which ensures that ACCA members are able
to access international status and recognition for their skills.
ACCA Canada
There are over 1,900 ACCA members and affiliates and over
800 students in Canada presently. Many ACCA members
are employed across Canada in public accounting
firms such as KPMG, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Others are employed in various
other industries, including government agencies, Human
Resources and recruiting, manufacturing, oil & gas, etc.
Entry Requirements
The ACCA offers various entry points on to the ACCA
Qualification, depending on age and previous academic
qualifications. We recommend that students have a good
proficiency in English.

General Entry
· Two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five
separate subjects, including English and Mathematics
Graduate Entry
· Hold a degree from an ACCA recognised institution
CAT/AAT Entry
· Pass introductory and intermediate level + paper 5
(CAT stream)
· Pass advance certificate – intermediate level (AAT
stream)
Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)
· Applicant must be 21 or older
· Must pass F2 and F3 paper before progressing to other
ACCA papers.
Exemptions
Students with relevant degrees or professional
qualifications may be eligible for exemptions from ACCA
papers. ACCA decides if previous study is relevant and they
alone award exemptions.

Exam Regulations
· The pass mark for all examinations is 50%
· All levels must be sat in order

Q. Do I require a student visa?
A. Students from many countries are eligible to study in
Canada for a short-term period up to 6 months without a
study permit. For citizens of countries which do require
a study permit, LSBF will provide the required proof of
enrollment, and the student is responsible to apply to the
local Canadian Visa Office with proof of financial means,
a clean bill of health and a clean criminal record check.
