Editorial Assistant Eleven loyal ATAGers either donned rain gear or opted to use
still looking their golf umbrellas to play today’s match in a light but steady
rain that started right at the first tee time. Though seven
players failed to show, the following eleven players refused to
let a light “nuisance” rainfall (no thunder or lightning) deprive
them of their weekly ATAG experience and successfully foiled
the attempt by the weather gods to rain out the match.

Publisher TEAM 2 DOMINATES!

Nickelodeon Team 2 players Ron Majors, Kevin McGlynn, Don Nichols,
Publications, Inc and Doug Healy roared to a lopsided victory by coasting
Since 2005 through the back nine with a score of 9 under and were
ceremoniously awarded their brewskies by the losing team of
ATAG Mike Gaddis, Marty Arnold, David Danzig and draw partner
Ansley Tuesday Afternoon Scotty Greene whose combined best ball net scores resulted
Golf Tour in a score of 3 over par, tying for worst score of the year
which previously was set on 4-18-06 by Andy Tyber, Bill
Ansley Golf Club
Meagher, Brad Reese, and draw partner Tom Player. A
1912 relieved Team 1 was incredulous that their poor play and
196 Montgomery Ferry Dr embarrassing score of 2 under did not result in defeat (except
Atlanta, Ga 30309 for partner Scotty Greene who couldn’t dodge the bullet when
he was selected as the draw partner). It just goes to show that
the old adage is still true: “no matter how bad you are, or how
bad you will be, there is always somebody worse”.

DAY!
The back nine continued to be stingy in giving up birdies as only
two tweeters were recorded on this day—both by “Mudder
Majors” who doubled his total contribution to the Birdie Club.
There were no “Shots Of The Day” reported, perhaps
attesting to the number of high scores on the scorecards.

OTHER TIDBITS:
● The eleven ATAG faithful gathered on the porch and enjoyed
a great evening while watching the rain steadily increase in
intensity shortly after the conclusion of the match. ATAG
humorists Tom Kisgen and Danny Morris (making a cameo
appearance) had some new material that elicited some guffaws
from the appreciative group. (When you next see them, be sure to
ask Tom about the honest Walmart greeter and Danny about
George Bush’s strategy for winning the war on terror.

● Kudos to Danny Morris for doing such an excellent job

chronicling last week’s play in the Nickelodeon format and for
showing up on the porch while still recovering from sinus
surgery five days earlier. The Editor was so impressed with
Morris’ write up that he offered Mr. Morris a full time position as
a feature writer on the Nickelodeon staff. Morris declined, saying
that he would prefer to continue with Letters to the Editor and
other free lance work. (The Editor later learned that Morris had
ATAG confided to someone else that the job just didn’t pay enough.)
Ansley Tuesday Afternoon
Golf Tour ● The Commissioner let it slip later in the evening that it was
Ansley Golf Club his birthday and, when asked his age, responded that he was
1912 thankful that he could still say he was a “fifty something”.
196 Montgomery Ferry Dr(note: despite a suggestion in last week’s issue, no one brought any
Atlanta, Ga 30309 birthday gifts for the head ATAGer—no sir, not even one, not
even cake and ice cream.)

That’s it for this week. See you next week when we go back to
the friendly front nine. Look for the Call For Players on Monday.
