General Rules & Regulations


One of the passenger booked on an E-ticket is required to present any of the seven identity cards noted
below in original during the train journey and same will be accepted as a proof of identity failing which all
the passengers will be treated as travelling without ticket and shall be dealt as per extant Railway Rules.
Valid Ids:- Voter Identity Card / Passport / PAN Card / Driving License / Photo ID card issued by Central /
State Govt. for their employees / Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized
School/College for their students / Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph
The accommodation booked is not transferable and is valid on presentation of identity proof during the
journey. The passenger should carry with him the Electronic Reservation Slip (or e-ticket) printout. In case
the passenger does not carry the Electronic Reservation Slip (or e-ticket), a charge of Rs. 50 per ticket
shall be recovered by the ticket checking staff and an excess fare ticket will be issued in lieu of that.
You can dial 139 from your landline and mobile phones for railway enquiries. It is suggested that you
reconfirm your train departure 12 hours before the scheduled departure.
The compartment / cabin / coupe numbers for first ACC and first class will be allotted at the time of chart
preparation.
If the train is cancelled, the ticket can be cancelled online by the passenger up to 3 days from the date of
departure of the train.
A passenger is permitted in the train against a berth/seat only when his name appears in the reservation
chart failing which he can be treated as a passenger travelling without a ticket. It is advisable for a
passenger to refer to the reservation chart before boarding the train.

Cancellation Rules & Regulations


The ticket can be cancelled (full cancellation and partial cancellation) online on the MakeMyTrip.com
website (Rail section) by logging into your MakeMyTrip.com account or by calling Toll Free 1-800-103
8765 (All Major Operators) or 0124- 462 8765.
If you would like to cancel your ticket after chart preparation, you are requested to file an online TDR
request to cancel your ticket by logging into your MakeMyTrip.com account. For more details on the TDR
process, please refer to the Railway FAQs section on MakeMyTrip.com.

Additional Instructions for Waitlisted Tickets


Status after chart preparation:
Confirmed ticket –Waitlisted tickets where all passengers are confirmed at the time of charting
Partially waitlisted/Confirmed/RAC ticket - Waitlisted ticket where some passengers are
confirmed/RAC and others are waitlisted at the time of charting
Fully waitlisted tickets - Waitlisted ticket where all passengers continue to be waitlisted at the time
of charting
Authorization to board the train
Passengers with Confirmed ticket are permitted to board the train. Their names will appear on the
chart
Names of passengers with Partially Waitlisted/Confirmed/RAC ticket will appear on the chart
(including the Waitlisted passengers)
PNRs that have a fully waitlisted status will be dropped during chart preparation and names of the
passengers will not appear on the chart. They are not allowed to board the train. If fully waitlisted
passengers are found travelling, they will be treated as traveling without a ticket and charged as per
the Railway Rules.
Refunds
After chart preparation, Fully Waitlisted tickets will be cancelled by the Railways and a refund shall
be credited to the user by MakeMyTrip on the account/card used at the time of booking
After chart preparation, refunds for Confirmed/RAC/Partially Waitlisted tickets will be processed
through TDR process. You can file a TDR online and the refund sanctioned by the Railways will be
credited back to your account/card by MakeMyTrip
