As Director for Ranieri & Company, closed numerous multimillion dollar deals. Managed the asset side of an acquired
$12 Billion financial institution, and utilized RTC’s contract language to reduce purchase price of a $450 Million
commercial real estate package by 5%.

As Vice President with Salomon Brothers, youngest ever vice president. Personally invented funding vehicles that
subsequently changed the entire financial industry in the United States and abroad, including Shifting Interest Senior

DIRECTOR 1988 - 1997
Recruited along with a select group of seven hand-chosen senior-level employees of Solomon Brothers to form the
core management team for this highly innovative, specialized equity capital and financial services firm. Analyzed in
excess of 300 prospective deals. Focused on 100% potential ownership positions within varied industries and market
sectors. Other responsibilities included providing financial consulting and guidance to selective clients, negotiating real
estate acquisitions, and personally provided effective leadership for a number of acquisitions, as well as oversight of
portfolio companies.
Developed business model, software and directed legal documentation requirements to launch the $434 Million
Hyperion Partners VC fund.
- Initial Hyperion Partners liquidated, providing an IRR exceeding 25% on invested LP capital.
 Helped to negotiate the purchase of a $450 Million face value commercial real estate loans and foreclosed
property package. Reviewed documents utilizing RTC’s language against them to reduce purchase price of this
package by over 5% just before closing. Liquidated very profitably over a 3-year period.
 Managed the government relationship covering the entire asset side of an acquired $12 Billion financial institution.
Institution was ultimately acquired by a large national bank at a significant profit.
 Overall, recommended and executed over 25 deals representing $850 Million invested during tenure.

VICE PRESIDENT / ASSOCIATE / ANALYST 1985 - 1988
Recruited to initial position with Salomon Brothers based on work performed in-house as an auditor while with Arthur
Anderson. Promoted to Vice President at age 26, and conceived and developed structured fixed income vehicles
that fundamentally changed the entire financial industry (including Shifting Interest Senior Sub.).
 Worked intimately with senior executives, legal and other departments and personnel in document development,
compliance, rating agencies, marketing and customer relations, and took a leading role in the earliest transaction
execution.
 Invented and spearheaded the collaborative development of CARDS credit card securitization model
approved by the Fed and subsequently utilized by the vast majority of major banks to finance their credit card
portfolios off balance sheet.
 Drove efforts executing and marketing numerous collateralized mortgage obligations, shifting interest, CARDs,
CARS automobile receivables, commercial and whole loan transactions. Worked closely with senior executives,
rating agencies, financial and regulatory professionals, legal teams, traders, and clients to ensure deals completed
to highest standards and met stringent regulatory guidelines, and exceeded profitability expectations.
