Germany
Germany has the largest population of all EU countries.
Alemania tiene la población más numerosa de todos los países de la UE.

 Its territory stretches from the North Sea and Baltic Sea in the north to the
Alps in the south, and is traversed by some of the greatest rivers in Europe,
like the Rhine, the Danube and the Elbe .
Su territorio se extiende desde el Mar del Norte y el Mar Báltico en el norte, hasta los Alpes en el sur,

Germany is a federal republic. The national legislature for the Bundestag (lower chamber or Federal Assembly), whose members are

countries of Central and Eastern Europe that joined the EU in 2004.

Family

Traditions—When a Child Loses a Tooth


Parents sometimes tell their children to put the lost tooth under their pillow. In the night a “Zahnfee” (a kind of elf) will
take the tooth and give the child a small gift.

German customs
German society often uses the night hours to go to different shows, the best known
are the operas of Deutsche Oper Berlin, the National Theatre of Munich and
Hamburgische.
There is a very important holiday tradition, emphasize the carnival in Cologne, Bonn,
Mainz and Düsseldorf. The fairs are held in spring and autumn, some only on
weekends.

La sociedad alemana suele aprovechar las horas nocturnas para acudir a diferentes espectáculos. Los más conocidos
son las óperas de Deutsche Oper Berlin, el Teatro Nacional de Munich y Hamburgische.
Hay una tradición festiva muy importante, destacan los Carnavales de Colonia, Bonn, Maguncia y Düsseldorf. Las
ferias se celebrasn en primavera y otoño, algunas solo los fines de semana.

Food

 The breakfasts are usually copious and high-calorie foods (sausages, cheese,
sausage, biscuits with honey ...)

 Literally "meatballs from Koenigsberg", this is a typical dish in and around Berlin. The
meatballs are made out of minced pork and are cooked and served in a white sauce with
capers and rice or potatoes.

 this dish is quite unique to Germany. Very thin sliced beef rolled around a piece of bacon
and pickled cucumber until it looks like a mini barrel (5 cm diameter) flavoured with tiny
pieces of onion, German mustard, ground black pepper and salt.

Wurst
 there is no country in the world with a greater variety of sausages than
Germany. There are boiled, beef sausage, boiled pork sausage, small, big,

The Neuschwanstein Castle


It’s one of the most visited castle in Germany. It’s one of the most popular tourist destination in Europe.

The castle is located in Bavaria near the town of Fussen. It was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, also
known as the “Fayytale King”

Neuschwanstein Castle was built in his honor and many rooms in the castle’s interior were insired
by Wagner’s characters. The third floor particulary reflects Ludwig’s admiration of Wagner’s operas.
The Singers Hall which occupes the entired fourth floor of the castle also contains characters from
Wagner’s operas.
