Chapter-9
  c
As the average income of the people living in Shimla is not so high due
to which the people are much tentative to the insurance product than the
other investment opportunities. The investment consciousness in Shimla
is not so high due to which they are not able to make the best use of their
savings.
The investment is limited to very few products. The general tendency of
normal investor is precautious; the investor invests into a limited range
of products. The investor is comfortable only with pristine products. The
investor is more leaned towards long term and safe financial products.
That is why LIC insurance has maximum coverage in this stratum. It
was also found that investment of single investor is also diversified to
other financial products. Many of the investors were invested through
multiple financial products.
c

c
Even Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd. has great appeal in
general masses but still the awareness regarding the Stock Holding
Corporation (SHCIL) is less. However, people trust SHCIL for their
investments3
