User Guide for 3G Camera

1. Getting Started

• Insert the Maxis SIM Card

• The battery should be fully charged before you can use the service, otherwise the 3G Camera may not
function correctly. When the battery is fully charged, the power indicator light will change to Cyan
• Set Date & Time (Please refer the User Guide in the box)
• Now you are ready to use the Service. Start video calling into 3G Camera now.

2. Camera & Speaker Adjustment during Video viewing

Press number keypad to adjust the camera :

• Pan
'2' - Upwards
'4' - left
'6' - right
'8' - downwards

• Zoom
'1' - zoom out
'3' - zoom in

• Brightness
'7' - reduce
'9' - increase

• Tilt
'5' - reverse image to 180 degrees

• Volume
'#' - increase
'*' - decrease

3. Managing your Camera by Administrator Only

a. Via Video Call

(after video call is connected, the Administrator should press '0' to enter the main menu)

• Adding Users
Step 1 : Press '1' for Add Users
Step 2 : Enter the phone number of the new user
Step 3 : Press '*'
Step 4 : Press '*' to confirm
Step 5 : Press '#' to cancel the operation and return to main menu

• Deleting Users
Step 1 :
Step 2 :
Step 3 :
Step 4 :
Step 5 :
Press '2' for Delete Users
Press '*' to scroll the page down
Select the serial number of the phone number that you want to delete
Press '*' to confirm the deletion
Press '#' to cancel the operation and return to main menu

• Changing PIN
Step 1 : Press '3' for Change PIN
Step 2 : Enter the current 4-digit PIN, followed by '*'
Step 3 : Enter the new 4 digit PIN, followed by '*'
Step 4 : Press '*' to confirm
Step 5 : Press '#' to return to main menu if you have entered a wrong PIN

• Changing of Administrator Number

 Step 1 : Press '4' to Change Administrator Number
Step 2 : Enter the new Administrator Number, followed by '*'
Step 3 : Press '#' to cancel the operation and return to main menu
• Video Recording
Step 1 : Press '5' for Video Recording
Step 2 : You will see the remaining memory and Duration available in the MicroSD card for
recording

Step 3 : Enter the No. of minutes for recording, followed by '*'

Step 4 : Press '*' to begin recording

Note:

1. After you enter the period you want to record, the 3G Camera will end the current video call and enter
video-recording mode
2. Maximum recorded video file size is 3hrs.
3. If the recorded time is longer than 3hrs, there will be several files.
4. Recording time depends on memory card storage.
5. An incoming video call during the recording will cause the 3G Camera to stop recording and send an SMS to
the Administrator and then continue the incoming call.
6. The administrator will receive an SMS sent by 3G Camera when the video recording is finished, when the
memory is full or when the video recording fails under the other situations.
7. The file will be saved in the MicroSD Card & named as yyyymmddhhmm_xx.3gp
• yyyymmddhhmm represent year, month, date, hour and minute
• xx represents the serial no

A list of available SMS commands will be sent to the Administrator,
through multiple SMS messages.

When access to the camera :
on - All users are required to enter PIN

off - Users do not required to enter PIN Non-Access List users will still

Set Camera Infrared Mode to :

If the switch is set as "on", the 3G Camera will prompt user to input his
calling number in the following situations, so as to decide whether the
video call is allowed:
1. the incoming call doesn't carry any number (may be the caller is
roaming or the caller disables the phone to send its number), or
2. the incoming call's number exceed 20 digits, or
3. the Access List reaches its limit and the incoming call's number isn't
in the Access List.

If the entered number is in the Access List, then the user will be further
prompted for the PIN and video call will proceed if the PIN is correct. If
the number is not in the Access List or the PIN has been input
incorrectly 3 times, the call will be disconnected. If the switch is set as
"off". the 3G Camera won't allow the video call in the following
situations:
1. the incoming call doesn't carry its number (maybe the caller is
roaming or the caller disables the phone to send its number), or
2. the incoming call's number exceed 20 digits, or
3. the incoming call's number isn't in the Access List and the Access
Listreaches its limit

Trouble Shooting

1. Why can't the 3G Camera be powered on?

Please check the colour of the power indicator. If the power indicator isn't on, please charge the 3G Camera. If the colour of power indicator
is Cyan, please check if the USIM card is valid and is not locked. You can check if the USIM card is locked by inserting it into a mobile
handset. If it prompts you to input a PIN when you power on the handset, please set the switch of the PIN off. After you have confirm the
USIM card is valid and not locked, insert it back to the USIM Card Slot and press Reset Key to power on the 3G Camera.

2. Why can't I initiate a Video Call to the 3G Camera?

Please check the colour of the signal indicator. If the signal indicator is not on, the 3G Camera hasn't powered on normally. Please press
'Power' key to power on the 3G Camera.

If the signal indicator is red (flash), there is no 3G network available or the signal of the 3G network is very weak.

If the signal indicator is yellow (flash), the 3G Camera is working properly. If you are unable to initiate a video call to the 3G Camera, please
check if your handset is under roaming or your phone number is in the Access List. If your handset is roaming or the phone number is not in
the Access List, you are unable to connect to the 3G Camera successfully.

3. Why isn't the communication stable or can't I dial video call in some place?
The communication can be unstable when either the caller or the camera loses a stable 3G signal. Please try again later or contact your
service provider.

4. Why isn't there any notifying tone when dial up a video call?
There are relative settings in the 3G Camera. As an administrator, you can set the switch of the notifying tone on/off by initializing an SMS
command.

5. Why is there echo when using the 3G Camera in some places?

It happens when the volume is too high or your handset is too close to the 3G Camera.

6. Why can't the handset display the main menu and/or control the 3G Camera by sending SMS?
It is because your number is not the Administrator Number. Only the Administrator Number can set the parameters of the 3G Camera.

7. Why can't the video call be connected when the 3G Camera works properly?
Please check whether your handset is roaming or if you have subscribed to the Caller Line Identification Restriction.

If you receive the SMS prompt:" The Access List reaches its limit, you can't be connected." At this time, you can press "CLEAR' button to
clear the 19 numbers saved in the 3G Camera except the Administrator Number, or delete some of the numbers in the Access List through
the Administrator Number.

8. If there is an unexpected situation when the 3G camera doesn’t work, what shall I do?

You can press Reset key to reset the 3G Camera.

9. What shall I do if I forget the password or the Administrator number?

Please send your 3G Camera to the retailer or the appointed maintenance place to reset the password.
