INTRODUCTION

The soil of 'Malwa' is known for its warm hospitality and delicious foods. Indore,
apart from being the industrial and business capital of Madhya Pradesh, enjous
the distinct essence of Malwa culture, which is been spread all over India for
years together with the unique taste of its delicacies; specially namkeens and
sweets.

Indore is the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, there is a lot of


commercial activity in the city. The trade and commerce of Indore resembles to
that of Mumbai. One of the reasons for that is Mumbai is very well connected to
Indore via all transport channels. Therefore all the business activities of Mumbai
reflect on the trade of Indore, resulting in it being called Mini Mumbai at times.
Shopping in Indore can be fun as the markets here offer a lot of variety to the
consumers.

There are a number of shopping places in Indore. Even international shops and
showrooms are present here. Indore is also famous for its cloth industry. Fabrics
adorned with hand block printing, tie and dye and Zari work are some of the
specialties of Indore. Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees are an all time favorite for
the people residing here. Apart from this, there are also a variety of local crafts to
choose from. In short, Indore is truly a shopper's paradise. You can shop till you

generations in the traditional Indori method, giving hygiene the top priority. So the

India will soon get its first ‘NamkeenPark' thanks to the initiative undertaken by
the Central government's MSME Development Institute to establish such a park
in Indore. Spanning over 40 acres of land, the park is expected to be well-
equipped with all the necessary amenities to enable SME salty product
manufacturers avail good facilities and enhance their competitiveness.

"The Namkeen Park in Indore will be set up as part of the cluster development
scheme, whereby land will be made available to small units that manufacture
snack items to help them make optimum use of the testing labs, godowns and
storage facilities," said MK Meena, assistant director Gr.I(chemical), MSME
Development Institute, Indore.

The establishment of the Namkeen Park is expected to be complete by 2011 with


an estimated investment of Rs 10 crore by the Centre. Around 300 manufacturers
of salt and snack items are likely to be housed in the complex.

"Small-scale salty product manufacturers in the park are likely to get help in
sourcing raw materials and marketing their products," said B Bang, owner of
Hemraj Sweets, a small-sized sweet and snack manufacturing shop in Indore.

According to sources, the process of allotting land to short listed units is not
complete and once the units that are eligible to get land are finalised, work on
setting up the Namkeen Park will commence.

Marketing strategy?

Developing a Marketing Strategy

Marketing strategies serve as the fundamental underpinning of marketing plans


designed to fill market needs and reach marketing objectives. Plans and
objectives are generally tested for measurable results. Commonly, marketing
strategies are developed as multi-year plans, with a tactical plan detailing specific
actions to be accomplished in the current year. Time horizons covered by the
marketing plan vary by company, by industry, and by nation, however, time
horizons are becoming shorter as the speed of change in the environment
increases. Marketing strategies are dynamic and interactive. They are partially

Marketing strategy involves careful scanning of the internal and external


environments which are summarized in a SWOT analysis internal environmental
factors include the marketing mix, plus performance analysis and strategic
constraints. External environmental factors include customer analysis, competitor
analysis, target market analysis, as well as evaluation of any elements of the
technological, economic, cultural or political/legal environment likely to impact
success. A key component of marketing strategy is often to keep marketing in
line with a company's overarching mission statement.

Once a thorough environmental scan is complete, a strategic plan can be


constructed to identify business alternatives, establish challenging goals,
determine the optimal marketing mix to attain these goals, and detail
implementation.[3] A final step in developing a marketing strategy is to create a
plan to monitor progress and a set of contingencies if problems arise in the
implementation of the plan.

The research design adopted to carry in this study is descriptive research.


Descriptive research design is used for this study. It is used to provide survery
and fact – finding enquiries of diffirernt kinds.Insight into the marketing strategy of
namkeen trader in Indore.

We have taking primary as well as secondary data for the study the
main source of data for the study is the primary source that is the
respondents themselves. These respondents are the youth who get
affected by the marketing strategy.
