compression or molding method.

Coating: coating is a process by which an essential dry, outer layer of coating

material is applied to the surface of a dosage form in order to confer specific
benefits that broadly range from facilitating product identification to modifying
drug release from the dosage form.

Principle: sustain release dosage form: sustain release dosage forms are terms used
to identify drug delivery systems that are designed to achieve (a prolonged
therapeutic effect)by continuously releasing medication over an extended period of
time after administration of a single dose. the onset of action (pharmacological
action)
Is often delayed and the duration of action (therapeutic effect) is sustained. for
example-ketoprofen granules in capsules. It’s also called prolonged release/extended
release.

Principle: beads: bead is a multilayer dosage form. which is mainly used in case of
sustain release dosage form preparation ,for prolonged therapeutic action. it can
also called pellet, which is mainly incorporated into a hard gelatin shell and
sometimes formulate tablet by direct compression. Polymers are mainly used with
the drug for preparing beads. here some time organic acids are mainly use for outer
coating and make it a target delivering dosage form.
