* Maintained the National Operations Center (NOC) Incident Management System (IM
S), which consists of critical records that provide accurate historical review o
f actions, planning, decision making, and governance by senior officials within
the U. S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
* Provided direct support to NOC Senior Watch Officer and Assistant Senior Watch
Officer; conducted searches to maintain situational awareness of all events and
threats to the United States.
* Assumed second in command of the NOC in the absence of the Senior Watch Office
r or Assistant Senior Watch Officer; all other times, made critical decisions as
third in command to senior leadership.
* Tracked incidents, events, and threats via electronic mail transmissions and s
everal secure systems, including the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications
systems (JWICs) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET).
* Assigned NOC tracking numbers for incoming incidents; collaborated with Senior
and Assistant Senior Watch Officers to assign some NOC numbers.
* Monitored progress of open incidents; examined daily incident records to deter
mine completeness and accuracy; requested amplifying information from appropriat
e DHS desks and operations centers; closed incidents as appropriate.
* Maintained fully searchable tracker log for data related to each NOC number/ca
tegory, utilizing an Excel spreadsheet; complied with all internal standards, po
licies, and procedures; collected, protected, and retained data for quick retrie
val.
* Served as a key point-of-contact to provide editorial oversight of incident re
cords; attended meetings to discuss issues impacting NOC goals, and recommended
ways to improve speed and efficiency of the tracker process.
* Created weekly intelligence briefings utilizing Power Point; coordinated the e
xchange of information with major intelligence agencies and interfaced with coun
ter-terrorist specialists regarding ongoing incidents.
