Functional Synopsis
Administrative Functions As Assistant to Director Industrial Relations, coordin
ated preparation of monthly reports to higher management, ensuring both timely c

Compensation Administration Graded over 5000 salaried jobs using both point/f
actor and survey comparison methods. Reviewed salary actions for compliance with
Equal Pay Act. As HR generalist, reviewed salary actions in conjunction with di
sciplinary (for performance) actions. Participated in both local and national sa
lary surveys. Evaluated salary actions in conjunction with salary budget guideli
nes and discussed variances with submitting management. Documented exceptions to
salary policy and submitted for higher management review and approval.
Labor Relations Created labor cost forecasts for operating divisions. Served as
the leader of a task force that analyzed over 200 collective bargaining agreeme
nts to create a database of contract content.
Human Resources Generalist Functions Held a variety of increasingly responsible
human resources positions in Columbus OH (HQ) and Northbrook IL (manufacturing
plant). Presented HR/Benefits information to a variety of audiences from shop fl
oor to executive suite. Responsible for safety and security functions at all fac
ilities. Trained first-line supervisors in a variety of human resource areas, in
cluding labor relations, performance appraisals and EEO. Responsible for staffin
g when at manufacturing facility and for supervising recruiting performed by cor
porate recruiters at corporate headquarters. Responsible for review and oversigh
t of separation process for employees in assigned units.
Technical Writing - Produced user documentation for PeopleSoft HRMS/Payroll syst
em. Wrote human resource administration manual used at over 40 locations in the
U.S. Wrote speeches for managers to deliver in a variety of contexts. Developed
presentations for self and others using PowerPoint and other presentation media.
