C4-ISR Center of Excellence Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, (BRAC) Weidlinger Associates, Inc. is providing full structural and antiterrorism force protection (AT/FP) design for the C4ISR Campus as part of the BRAC Initiative r elocating Army activities from Fort Monmouth to a site at the Aberdeen Proving G round. This $500 million, 1 million gsf design-build project for the USACE inclu des five secure office buildings, an auditorium, a laboratory building and other support buildings. Of structural interest is the exterior cladding of the 5-sto ry office buildings, which were designed by Weidlinger to provide lateral force resistance and integrate with the structural system. Typical DoD criteria for mi litary bases regarding site perimeter, standoff, hardened systems and progressiv e collapse resistance were applied to the project components. The AT/FP design w as in accordance to the Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism and progress ive collapse standards.
