Instructions: How to Double Space a Document in Word 2007

Audience :
A user of Microsoft Word who has forgotten or wants to learn how to
double space a document.

Introduction:
pacing your text can really increase readability of your

documents. Microsoft Word 2007 has a built in feature to automatically
create spacing between lines of text based on custom preferences. These
preferences can be applied in seven steps

is that all the paragraphs in your selection will be spaced to the format that
you defined. Any spacing format can be reverted so there is absolutely

reason to worry about safety.

Step 1: Open the Select M
Menu
In this step you will open the

Click the Select menu on the


top right to show the different

Next you will use this menu to


select all of the document text.

In this step you will select all of


the document text to prepare to
double space it.

Click the Select All option to


select all of the document text.

Next you will navigate the


menus to double space the
selected text.

Step 3: Switch Toolbars
In this step you will switch to
the toolbar tab containing Page
Layout options

Click the text reading "Page


Layout" at the top of the current
toolbar

Next you will use this tool bar


to navigate to the appropriate
options.

Step 4: Open the

Options Dialog.

In this step you will open the

space the selected text.

Click the small box in the lower


right corner of the Paragraph

Step 7: Apply Settings

In this step you will apply the

Click the button on the lower


right corner of the document
labelled "OK”.

Your document is now double spaced. This will not only make it more
readable, but it will now contain white space between lines for use in
proofreading or editing.
