December 2008 to Current Winnebago County Health Department Program Marketing C
ommunications Manager
Leads and directs the Weed and Seed program development process though training
and supervision of Weed and Seed volunteers/staff. I currently supervise 2 assoc
iates and 14 volunteer staff. Works within a federal grant program that requires
grant reporting. Required to write grants for community service programs. Requi
red to seek out grant funding to sustain Weed and Seed program once grant fundin
g expires. Works as an outreach person in homes, community centers, schools, chu
rches, and businesses, providing a link between residents and social services.
Implements social service programs continuously to leverage all types of resourc
es to the community. Works directly with law enforcement to weed out crime and m
ake the Rockford westside area a safer place to live. Monitors the activities, p
rogress, and outcomes of sub-committees and grantees. Organizes and runs meeting
s for the subcommittees. Give presentations and markets weed and seed program to
community members, government officials, and outside service agencies. Provide
mediation among the community and law enforcement. Works closely with Rockford H
ousing Authority. Provides numerous youth organizations opportunities to work co
mmunity service projects. Interfaces with all levels of county and city governme
nt including state senators and representatives. Works with outside agencies suc
h as United Way, Roscrance, and Crusader Clinic to provide services to the commu
nity. Provides information on community programs involved with to television and
newspaper media through interviews and press releases. Also prepares and delive
rs local newsletter to community.

Responsible for the formation and implementation of WAVE (Working Against Violen
t Environments) Agency wide trainings; recruiting, training and scheduling new v
olunteers, and for responding to medical advocacy referrals and hotline calls in
conjunction with the goals and objectives of the Illinois Health Cares Grant. R

iders how to screen their patients for domestic violence. Leading a team of pri
mary partners and expanded community coalition members to develop, market, and c
ommunicate plans for the public awareness and training/education components of t
he grant. Collaborating with Rockford Sexual Assault and Visiting Nurses Associ
ation in order to provide a comprehensive approach to domestic violence issues i
n Winnebago County.
July 2005 to Current Business Marketing Coordinator for Wegler Vizslas Breeding
Co-Own and operate dog breeding business. Responsibilities included: accounting,
billing, scheduling, planning, and marketing. Also manages content for the Wegl
er Vizslas website and Facebook page.
October 2002 to July 2005 YWCA CCR&R Special Projects Manager /Coordinator. Re
sponsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the License Exempt Child Ca
re Initiative Grant which was focused on enhancing the quality of care in licens
e exempt child care settings by offering communication, support, training, resou
rces, and incentives to a bi-lingual population of DuPage and Kane Counties in I
llinois. Responsible for supervising the Coordinator Assistant, marketing the p
rogram, interviewing, hiring, and supervising the presenters of the workshops.

Own and operated home childcare business. Responsibilities included: supervision

menu, and informal curriculum.
I was also Vice President of the Glen Ellyn Illinois Day Care Association.
