SUMMARY
I am a very innovative, experienced, and analytical SYSTEMS AND SOFTWARE ENGINEE
RING PROFESSIONAL with a very solid background in telecommunications, software a
nd systems engineering, computer operations, systems analysis, testing, technica
l writing, and strategic planning. I have been granted three US Patents for tel
ecommunications protocol correlation, analysis, and tracing. I have extensive e
xperience in SS7 and GSM Systems and Protocols, as well as others as noted below
. I continue to identify innovative and elegant solutions to resolve Long Term
Evolution (LTE), as well as specific customer issues. I drive improvements thro
ughout all groups of the organization, in the US and France as well as offshore
Engineering Partners in Czech Republic and India to deliver measurable results t
o ensure continued success of the organization.

EXPERIENCE
TEKELEC, Morrisville, North Carolina (continuous employment): 1990-2010
Systems Engineer 2008-2010
* I was a Systems Engineer for telecommunications network monitoring solutions
* Ensured all components of the of system worked well together
* Worked closely with Development Engineers, designing new applications and prod
ucts
* Organized several special-purpose engineering projects
* Researched and recommended cutting-edge (hyper-multi-core) CPU products from t
hird parties tailored for software implementation of deep-packet inspection (DPI
) and analysis applications
Software Engineer 4 1990-2008
* I have been granted three US Patents (Links below are to official US Patent Of
fice records)
o Three US Patents granted for telecommunications protocol correlation, DPI, ana
lysis, and tracing
* US Patent 6,456,845
* US Patent 7,801,124
* US Patent 7,844,033
* I have developed Tier-One Carrier-grade monitoring applications for four major
product lines
o Extensive work on four multi-year products for telecommunications protocol mes
sage generation, monitoring, analysis, performance, and storage
o These applications included detailed decoding, filtering, tracing, and saving
of messages and creation and storage of Call and Transaction Detail Records
* I have been the Team Leader of a cross-group team (Design, Implementation, and
Product Verification) of as many as 17 Engineers both US-based and offshore (Cz
ech Republic and India)
* I am a Subject Matter Expert in SS7 telecom communication protocols, including
ISUP, MTP, SCCP, TCAP, GSM MAP, ANSI-41, INAP, LIDB, CNAM, and CAMEL
* Project Management
o Directly responsible for planning and schedules for Protocol Analysis, the maj
or application in the Sentinel Product Line, one of our several multi-year proje
cts.
o Always worked very closely with the Project Manager assigned to a project
* I have designed, written, and tested extensive software applications. I have
worked very closely with US-based engineers as well as engineers in France, Czec
h Republic, and India
* I have always been directly involved with the design and architecture of our p
roducts
* I have written many high-level and detailed design documents based on product/
feature requirements documents from Product Management
* Quality Assurance responsibilities
o Directly responsible for ISO 9000 recordkeeping and auditor interviews
o Dealt directly with the customer on many issues escalated from the Technical A
ssistance Center, or from Installation or Sales Engineers
o Directly responsible for root-cause analysis of field issues
o Directly responsible for maintaining the Problem Report database, assigning En
gineers to implement features and handle issues, and assuring feature/issue reso
lution
o Represented Software Development in many technical document reviews, while adh
ering to strict Software Life Cycle Process standards
* I implemented an extensive Visual Basic Excel application
o This application would pull the latest versions of requirement and design docu
ments from the official document repository, create an Excel chart of them, colo
r-coded as to their current approval status
o The application would then scan the documents for all feature or targeted-prob
lem numbers, pull the official tickets for these features/problems and create an
other color-coded chart as to the current status of them
o This application ran hourly in the background and the charts were made availab
le as an intranet link so that anyone in the company could easily check our curr
ent project status at a glance
