Accountancy 220 is designed to provide students with the basic theory and practice of financial
and managerial accounting from the point of view of a manager. Through exercises, problems
and class discussion, students will learn the fundamentals of financial statement preparation and
analysis as well as the basic accounting techniques of planning, control and decision making.

The course website for ACCO 220 can be found on the John Molson School of Business
FirstClass Intranet. FirstClass will be used for posting notes and other information useful to the
students in the course. To have access in FirstClass, you need FirstClass Client software, which
you can download from JMSB Intrenet (http://jmsb.concordia.ca). You must be a registered
student in ACCO 220 in the current term. Use your Concordia NetName as user ID and your

Classes will be a mixture of lecture and discussion. roblems will be assigned each week for
review in class. There will also be quizzes from time to time.
